I have a long experience in computer technical support and software packages running on mainframes. The most basic thing we had to do was ensure we had back up of the iive system, and we would run updates of software applications on a test system, that was more advanced ( updated ) than the live system, so much so that when we went live with an updated application , we were 100% sure of it running successfully.

When you work for organisations like the DHSS in the Uk, and Chase Manhattan running systems that have to be online everyday to allow the dealing room to operate, then downtime just isn't acceptable.

So my question is why and what did WGT get wrong in their last update to necessitate a second maintenance..

The answer will be interesting because if for example they were trying to change something in gameplay, then at least we can judge for ourselves the success or not of the change. But of course WGT never tell us of their intentions do they.

I understand exactly what your saying 1 eye m8, I myself have my own site, and wouldn't for the life of me release an update, code change of any sort without it first being tested, and I'm not talking on a scale of site as WGT is.

I agree with Mushy, for some reasons updates just to not work for some reason - I have had these issues before (but I am not an IT Guru).

However I think that WGT had to do another updates they forgot to plug the VEM button back in. I had a couple of decent rounds and the ball did as I expected :)

I agree since changing we now have trouble loading and  shots now land no where that you placed the flag and hit the ding.It seems we don't do free surveys either i guess they're not doing it to pay for these up dates that never seem to work on wgt.

Well since the latest one just last night for roughly 2 hours I noticed this.

Browser load time is slow while playing.

Meter has jitters then just before the ding line speeds up.

And yes I do clear my cache every once in a while.

On the good side; managed a 180 yard approach shot for Eagle on #10 of Bethpage today. :)  Maybe V.E.M. was taking a break...lol

    I agree Too... Sorry Wgt

Quite a few problems some of us are having started when Mr Leadbetter came on the scene ..... more things to load in gameplay
