Here is why q. why does it bother you guys if you get all head winds? Except for not reaching 5's (you got me there), why would someone want 20tail wind on a par 3?:)

I would rather have head wind, club or or two and then hit it and stick it.

On a par 4 in high wind, there could easily be a difference of 60 yards on a drive.  That's four clubs right there.  Then the player facing the wind needs to add another club or two to his second shot, while the guy with the tail clubs down one.  It's often a difference of 6 clubs, sometimes more.

Na,,, no Cream needed. No...WGT needs to make this right.

Nobody in their right mind thinks having different winds in same tourney for each player is a level playing field.

Not one excuse in the book will cover this either. Nope,, they either need to change it,, or come out like a man and admit that you can not!

    Pretty simple.... huh?

But...... i'm sure they will find a way to make it complicated.   lmao!

    Hi

Of course I realize that some holes play very different in tail and head wind, with 17th sta being a very good example, but in the large scale, random winds work.

Icon, we are talking about single play tourneys here right? Could you please explain how random winds work in a single play tourney and all players are getting different winds?

Large scale?  Lost me there. In a single play game when one player gets tail wind on par 5 and other player gets head wind. One player has chance to reach green.... other player no chance. Is that fair??

Secondly... in a single play game where one player gets a tail wind on par 3,, and the other get head wind,, is that fair??

Just asking,, because i truly do not understand what you are trying to say at all.

Maybe could explain a little?  Thanks

Edit: I'm truly scratching my head..... i can't for the life of me see what you are talking about. Large scale??  Not getting it.

Are you trying to say that if you play the same tourney over and over,, sooner or later you will get lucky??  I sure hope not.  lol But i got a bad feeling that is exactly what you mean. If so......man o man..  Don't think going there,,yup..i need to shut up now because don't want to know what i think about that at all,  i can assure you. lol.

but in the large scale, random winds work.

What are random winds? Are they random hole to hole? Or is a set of winds 'selected' for each player prior to teeing off? Seems like most rounds are either goods winds or bad winds... It's either tail wind on every par 3 with head wind on every par 5 or the other way around.

The best idea I've seen so far is giving each player similar winds in any single play game. Four quadrants (12-3/3-6/6-9/9-12), with everyone getting a wind in the same quadrant on each hole. Wouldn't have to be the exact same strength or direction, but would still make it much more realistic than someone playing a hole into a 20 mph head wind while someone else plays that same hole, in the same RG, 5 minutes later with a 20 mph tail wind.

Well.... i would say this thread is dead, lol.

Hey....Ready go Lotto  tickets available now..................please get one.

Hope you are one of the lucky to get the right wind set..........good luck!

    Skill based game....pff

Really is a shame,, when this game could be so much more, but the people running it will not allow the game to be played as it should. Why anyone would want one player to have a advantage over the other in a single play game is beyond me,,, but that is what this company wants. No doubt about it!!!!

This site truly needs to hire someone that plays real golf to take it in the right direction. Right this moment this game hasn't any. Going nowhere in a hurry.

    Rest my case!!

Yes, I am aware and yes sometimes you can get a really bad set of winds but you're not the only one in it. Someone else may get 20 tail on #11 sta while you get 29 head on #17, or anything else in between. Only way to keep it fair in the long run is to keep them random.
There is no better system IMO, but that's just my view :)
