Why is it possible to drive straight through the tree on the left? Its supposed to shield the fairway. Pointless having it there.

You'll hit it one day. Then you'll need about 3 shots to reach the fairway. Personally I bend around it.

    No not really!!

True its possibly to drive directly through the trees, on occassions you will hit the tree, and no doubt through experience will end up with a 40-50% or worse in the deep rough.

Rather than play roulette with the greenery  even with the wind unfavourable, off the tee 'one avatar' movement less and full BS should land you on the fairway about 100 from the pin.

    End of problem!!

It's a limitation of the game graphics-they don't show the bend you get when you hit early. I personally don't move the aimer and with fbs hit the first line before the ding. Never fails but it looks like it goes right through the tree.

I did learn something yesterday that I found interesting. I saw a TL drive directly through a tree at CCC and asked him how he did it. Apparently, when you see black instead of defined leaves in a tree, it won't stop the ball.

I personally think WGt has reprogrammed some of the tree's / branches in some courses.

Merion #12 is best example...ive over sliced that a few times in the past 4-6 weeks but ball has flown straight through them. when Merion first came out, any slight brush off a leaf it was in deep trouble.

Hole 4 maybe? I by default hit full topspin on that drive today instead of full backspin. The ball was barely half way up the tree but still went clean through it. No way this would happened a couple of months ago.

Saying that Jim, first hole at Olympic, when the wind is against, say for example 3 to 9, theres two gaps in the trees, full BS aimed at the left gap, been through and no problems on all tee shots!

Interesting Jim, I'll have to keep an eye out for that.

It does seem as if the trees on BPB #2 have been made somewhat easier, I used to catch them about 1 round in 10 but lately it almost never happens.  I haven't tried going through the tree on CCC #4, I always hit full b/s to get over it.

Olympic #1 seems to have only holographic trees, I don't think I've ever hit them.  Wish I could say the same about #10 though, that hole can really wreck a round.

LOL. Y'all do realize WGT supposedly reads these forums, right?  Don't be surprised if this changes. After all, it isn't really right.  :-)

I hit the same shot most the time and I probably hit those trees about 1/10. No idea how to avoid them.
