C'mon, man.  I keep getting double-digit, due east wins.  If you're a legend playing against a non-legend on that hole, you may as well forfeit.

Can't we do something about that?

I've went through the tall part of the tree multiple times with full BS, although sometimes you may hit the tree...You can aim way right and hit early to draw around it also.

I can hook around it easily during many wind combinations.  However, my last few trips to Congressional, I get that hole and it's a 10-15mph wind due east.  If I try to pull too much hook, it just clips the tree.

Basically, unless I hit the ball absolutely perfectly without even the most minimal chance of error, I can get it to land on the fairway a yard west of rough.  However, even the smallest goof and I'm punching out of the 40-50% crap.

sometimes a choked punch is the ticket - might be 130 out but beats the weeds and brush and whatever else that cabbage is on the left. - i hit it yesterday for the first time in quite a while - had to rethink trying to get it out to normal spot

Contrary to what you may feel is right Michael and as Swaded has already stated, you might want to aim off the fairway right into the rough and miss the ding early, and when I say early I mean real early, in the dark blue to curve that ball round the tree. If you have a L to R wind then you won't want to aim quite as far as indicated in the picture below, but don't be afraid to aim at the rough on the right which you need to do to stop the draw pulling the shot into the tree before it curves around it.

For this REPLAY I was aiming just right of the cart path.

Regardless of any wind and direction, use full backspin off the tee and you should always clear that tree,I haven't hit that tree since I learned to use fbs  any wind or direction from the back tees...
