    G'Day All.

    I am level 63 and considering upgrading some clubs. I have the Ping Rapture set at the moment. I am thinking to upgrade my driver to G20 for the extra distance. Is it worth getting the G20 3w and Hybrid also or keep the Raptures? Think I can keep hitting the  rapture irons. Also have the TaylorMade Z wedges 54 and 60.

    Thinking also to upgrade the TaylorMade Spider putter. How much of a difference will/can a new putter make? If a change does make a difference what would you recommend? Looking at TaylorMade Ghost Manta / Taylormade Ghost Spider / One of MAX Control or wait for a level up.

    Let me know what you think.

    Much appreciated.

    with a longer driver a third wedge would help more than a hybrid IMO ....

    Since you don't want to profit from a "full clubset" buy, you may do it one by one.

    The G20s certainly are good clubs - the first with "high" trajectory. Alas, this is least important on the driver. How much longer is it than the Rapture?

    Talking about the other woods, one might be enough, e.g. the 3WD. This is because the standard set-up in the higher levels drops the hybrid and utilises a third wedge instead. Dreams of the future for you...

    ...which might include a further upgrade in the range of lvl 80 (RBZ, G20, R11...).

    I suppose that you might play better with better wedges. These lvl14 babes won't compete with the better ones. I propose two short wedges, as expensive as you can handle. Ping, ATV, Cleveland - whatever you like.

    Putter: I'd always propose a putter beyond the Spider but since you have it you might as well keep it for a while. The only urgent reason to exchange it would be your outright dissatisfaction with it. And, the choice depends on your putting technique: "ding" or "off-ding".

    Balls: Don't know these L1 Callies but I suppose there may be other with better performance. Did you ever try WGT Tour SD, Srixons or lvl33 Callies? Give them a try!

    What wedge(s) would you recommend? Noticed the ones I have are no longer for sale. The third wedge often pops up as recommendation. What loft am I missing? Thanks for the info.

    Would you recommend the full G20 club set upgrade? What would be the profit? What putter would you recommend if I make a change? Thanks for the info.

    Buying a full set reduces the price for the bunch, but me thinks that you don't need it now.

    The Satins were replaced by the ATV, but that shouldn't bother you. Don't think in brand and loft but think in length. Your current options are 60 + 75 yds (Ping lvl 42) or 50 + 77 (ATV lvl 39). Let you feel and your purse decide.

    The third wedge would be around 100 yds, closing the gap below a high level iron set.

    No recommendation for a putter - it depends on personal preferences.

    I 4 1 (off-ding putter) am happy with my Rossa.

    Wedges:

    As alluded to by Alosso wedges you may as well for the price. Infact 3 evenly spaced ones with the G20 irons in mind (remembering the PW is really the 4th wedge);

    Driver / wood wise I have nothing to add;

    Iron wise L59 G20s every day BUT how serious are you before you splash the wonga? Your dist to the pin is poor and this knocks on to a poor 1 putt.  Your 2 putts are OK so this tells me the issue is only your iron play.  I am surmising some so FWIW in hope may help.  Now your driving accuracy is just A1 OK so it really is iron and wedge lets say play.

    If I am correct the fix is easy apart from hard work on your part.  With (if serious about getting better) the only ever (make it a reasonable one) ball that use go to Beth 10, 11 and 12 in low winds.  Hit each iron neutral spin and 3/4 spin in turn, and count only dinged shots (you can also do FBS in time as need).  Do this until you KNOW what each iron does (average of 5 min dinged shots per setting).  After that same wedges for full, punch and flops for the distances you want.  For example I know my CG64 punches 25 yards hit 65% power FBS (dang useful lil shot).  If you intend to be active join a good CC to (spk me about that privately if want but sev. good ones out there).

    Cheers and good luck
