    Hey Alosso.

The G20 offers an extra 23 yards. New wedges are worth thinking about. What lofts would you recommend. The third wedge is also worth thinking about. Haven't played around too much with ball varieties to be honest. Presently using gifts from WGT.

I recommend nominal shot lengths of 50 + 77 (ATV, expensive) or 60 + 80 (Ping, budget). Decide about the third wedge when you get to the high level clubs, for two reasons:

    1) it must fit below the PW which you own then (you might want to upgrade them later),

    2) the 100 yds wedges available to you do not have the stopping power that the better ones have.

Anyway, the wedges' punch distances are almost like additional clubs. Include them in your play. An example: My 50 + 77 yds pre-ATV Satins and a 100 yds Cleveland have nominal lengths of 41 + 50 + 63 + 77 + 81 + 100 yds.

You should try the cheapest balls (10 crs a sleeve) to see the difference ;)

    Thanks Alosso.

Great advice and much appreciated. Will consider the Ping wedges.

    Cheers.

I have been reading about tier levels. I am at Master level but average is 72.2 which I believe is Tour Pro level. Will upgrading to longer hitting clubs help bring my average score down given I am playing off longer tees. Struggle to make some greens in regulation with what I have. Understand playing more often brings better results but would I be giving myself a better chance of improvement with club upgrades? Would just a driver upgrade to the G20 help a lot or the full set go toward making for better playability? Probably an obvious question just don't want to spend where unnecessary.

    Appreciate any advice.

Don't look back, think "Master" ;)

72.2 as a Master is from longer tees, thus better play!

Longer clubs with higher trajectory(!) help in several ways:

    - they bring you closer to the greens, allowing for more precise approaches,

    - easier shots uphill and behind hazards,

    - the approaches will hold better on the greens, since backspin will become more intense.

Regarding the "lil" Raptures which you carry, my two Pfennig are

    - driver (G20?) and two wedges as a must,

    - 3WD or irons (G20?) according to your ambition and purse,

    - eventually, a third wedge to complete the set-up.

Other options available soon while levelling up from 64.

    Hello

I am sure that everyone on this game has their own preference about clubs and balls.

I use 3 wedges and two of them are 56 degree wedges.  I did this because the one is a much better club and hits 90 yards where as the other hits 70.

Try to equally space your clubs and think long and hard about your pitching wedge also.  I went with a 90 yard wedge over a 100 yard wedge because my pitching wedge is good for 105.

I also use a hybrid over a 3 wood.  I lose 5 yards with the hybrid but I think I have more control over my hybrid than my 3 wood.

As far as balls go.......Find something that u like and u can afford and stay with them.  Balls are so different and anyone who plays any amount of ctth games knows they make a huge change from one ball to the next.

    Have fun shooting
