New Courses for 2014

  The best news is that Pinehurst #2 will make its appearance later this year. Say what you want about the WGT higher ups, but when they add Merion followed by Pinehurst you know that they have their eyes focused forward. Whatever future courses are brought on-line, whether Bandon Dunes as a par 3 course or others as full play par 70-72 courses, they are trying to keep the game challenging and fresh. That they don't work at the same rate as Sony's game developers is only related to their business plan that calls for us, the players, to put forward far less money than the cost of a Play Station and the related games.

  If I read that statement correctly about WGT strengthening partnership with the Pebble Beach Company, that opens up another line of wishful thinking. PBC owns more than just Pebble Beach Golf Links - they also own The Links at Spanish Bay &  Spyglass Hill.  Just saying .....

  We were going to have Pebble several years ago and the deal fell through, hope it doesn't when it ocmes back around.

  Pinehurst will be good fun for sure, they really need to get back to 2 courses a year.  If the British Open courses won't let them, how about the PGA, there are some good courses hosthing the PGA championship.

  My thought on this is the Canadian Open. As with the PGA there are some great courses hosting the Canadian Open

  I agree with you Born.  I know the ROW would like to see courses included from all over but I would be happy just to get any two courses and especially 2 or 3 sets of pins per course.  I know it is expensive to shoot and the negotiations with clubs are probably a pain as well but you can really see the interest in the game starting to decline as the number of courses per year have gone from 2 to 1.  I'd be for never doing another CTTH course unless it is on a course they are shooting for stroke play.

  The PGA and Canadian Open are played on some pretty good tracts, some of them even public or resort.  I would suggest that Torrey Pines, right there in Southern California might be a good one to bring on.  The TPC of Scottsdale as well, heck do it in the summer when it is 125 degrees the course is empty.
