One can easily make birdie on the into the wind par 5s. Just have to hit your wedge close

Very true... and I did birdie all 4 par 5's into the wind...  but my approach on the SA's par 5 on the back was with a 4 iron...haha... Forget the hole number (15??), but it's the one you have to lay up short of the fescue if you have a 30 mph wind in your face.  I also birdied the 2 of the par 3's with the obvious 30 mph tailwind!

I was happy with my score... just not with the oh-so-predictable conditions.

I'm still waiting for WGT to contact me....lol what a joke! Every RG I enter I get a 33 for 9 holes and a 65 for 18 it never fails.  And they will not answer any of my questions or contact me in regards to RG's I never here a peep.  But they take my *** credits no problem.

How the hell can I shoot a 55 on a course with the same conditions as the RG, than I play the RG and shoot a 65. If it only happened once or twice...ok. But every *** time. My putts always, if online, come up .2 or .3 feet short.  WGT can u please explain this to me. These same putts go in with my same formula if not playing an RG. What the hell is going on! Please answer my *** questions.

Played Oakmont back nine RG...wouldn't you know it, a 33 AGAIN!....lol. It's like there is a barrier that I can't do any better so someone else can win. Check my score history on non RG's compared to RG's. There is significant difference in scoring averages. Why does that happen, that is a question for WGT to answer...which they never answer my questions anyway.

Career earnings of over 5k suggest it can't be too bad...

I hear a lot that players find the game to be different somehow when playing a RG from when they play a normal ranked or a CC tournament. I can't say i've noticed because i play a lot of RG's. Sometimes 10 in a row. I do manage to shoot sub 30's & 50's quite consistently. Yes sure there's a few times that a 33 or a 65 creeps in but thats a lot to do with my mistakes or taking risks that don't pay off. Or i'll get the odd meter jump. I can't believe that the game gets harder just because you've paid to enter a tournament.

What i would suggest is players pick 5 of their favorite RG's. Just 100cr each if you don't want to spend too much. Then play them 1 after the other. Don't WD how ever bad it gets because a bad 1 is normally followed by a good 1. I guarantee that 3 or 4 of those 5 RG's will go well and a profit will be made. And remember, it's not about winning each RG but just getting in the top 10 consistently.

Totally agree, Even a poor round by your standards can usually get you half you entry fee back. Just avoid hitting WD.

My problem recently has been blowing good positions with poor shots on the final few holes. Oakmont RG today I was on for a 54 and parred the last two holes. :(

    Hi

St. Andrew hole 14 you can go left and then you have an approach shot for about 130-135 ( with 30 mph wind in your face).

    Have fun.

Must be nice, to never have your shot fly 30 yards over the green, or the 3 wood slam into the bunker at 175 yards or the putt jump off the club face in the wrong direction.

I'm not slamming rg's, I play a good chunk myself, but it is pretty obvious to most people who play them, that especially after a 1rst place, most of us mere mortals will be lucky to get half the credits back the next time it is teed up.

I like the par 3, I have done very well there, often my 39 win will be followed by something a little more mediocre like a 49, but then it will be followed by a few top tens, and then another win and the cycle continues.

But I'm fairly certain dazza, that when you get left with 30 feet, it's more likely you are going to make it then me, so I and others will notice it more.

I'm just happy to make a profit and maybe it's their way of sharing the wealth. Corporate communists they are. LOL
