I confess to foolishness. I avoid heavy wind. I am perhaps just so-so at putting, and have yet to advance beyond 4 or 5 holes of the un-even lie games. So, I withdrew from this one because things were not going as I wished. Poor little girl...some like haggis, others like 'sue-chee', still others aquire a fondness for Scotch. Nevertheless, if Icon has another one of these great games, I will eat all of the haggis & 'sue-chee', wash it down with 40 year old Glenlivet, and endure to the bloody end. You have my word on it.

That.  Was.  Not.  Fun.  At all.  Why?  Because after playing this game for 2 years, I still can't get it through my thick skull that I need to utilize proper course management when playing Oakmont.  Like going with 70% power (or less) with the driver when playing under heavy winds.  One of these days I'll learn, I guess.  Oh, and the UEL's and extremely slow greens I was subjected to here?  No problem there.  Lmao!  Good grief.

Btw, on 15 I had a 20 foot putt, 9 inches down.  I hit 20 and ended up 2 feet short. So, there you go!

    On 7th hole..birdied #2 and 4 putts 0.8, 0.7, 0.5, and 0.4 inches short so far..

Keep hitting the damn thing harder too  :))))

Cudda got heads up on green speeds but like to play it straight...time to crack on.

                                              --------------------------------

6 lip outs, 3 balls HANGING over the hole on big breaking putts !

+ 3 great saves from 1 red and 2 amber lies in 40/50

^^^ About sums the round up for double bogey on #18..

Suppose it could've been 10 shots better but no consolation....

Fun ?, not this time Icon, Interesting ? Very..

Might have a handle on these UL's after all,

    after 20 practice rounds I should have ! :)))

    Andy

PS..does affect average, went from 57.88 to 57.99

A senior at my local golf course once said: "the slower and worse the greens get, the better it is for the worst putter in a group". I guess he was right, now I just got to survive the second fast greens game without dropping out of contention.... lol

Really fun games icon, thanks for it.

I never did figure out the green speed on this one.  I should have easily been in the 50's.  I had 5 putts that were right in the heart of the hole that stopped short less than 1ft away but had two that rammed the back of the cup so hard they jumped over.  Hopefully they will be the same speed on the Whistler round - maybe I can figure them out with another 18 holes to play on them. :)
