Funny you should say that about champ greens. I now use the same ratio as for tourny greens with the only difference being that I take more off on downhills.

What happened with Bandon Dunes?  Thought it was coming in January?

    Wondering also.

I think it's after June now.

They said sometime in the fall

Because the US Open is priority.  I think they said it was shot first and must be completed first.

    If I remember correctly.

It would def be after US Open concludes. We simply had no time to get it in before since US Open was photographed first and has to be finished first.

Under 10 foot and not downhill so do I 95% of the time.  Above 10 foot, downhill or where you can't get away with running 3 feet past I do adjust.  I seldom have the stopping short issue as I am very firm by default.

    Separately the new Nike irons:

Spin makes them very sensitive to any wind, and on holes that play short or long anyway that spin can also show up that variance even more anyway even before the wind is factored.

When they were first issued they were going off line for me and several others (huge thread on that), but that stopped. WTFs will always happen bot that aside the Nikes seem very capable irons.

Turning up with a yardage chart that was prepared using just Beth #s 10, 11 and 12 and playing just Beth you would be on a hiding to nothing elsewhere IMO, but that's a learning curve.  I see no inconsistency in distance once that task is accomplished, but it is a task that has to be gone through. If pushed I am not always convinced it should be such a task as I don't always see the reason at certain holes, but the shots remain consistent once you have them.

Anyone just playing A/S and like I say just carding scores from Beth you would be unlikely to see it.

Also (and interestingly to me) the Nikes seem to have almost been designed and tested with the L33 Cally ball I will say that. It's hard to make that ball do too much wrong with them, but the reasons (each to their own) some prefer a different ball (for their game) do not go away...That different ball though (Nikes anyway) the greater learning curve that these irons then insist on for whatever reason has to be accepted.  Like I said (if pushed at still 90% only mapped for all holes) I am not convinced that is always rightly, but it is nonetheless consistent if executed properly.

I say all that noting that I do like play a fair amount of spin which I think should be stated.

From just looking at the Pro Shop looks like the ATV 56 lv 86 meter is faster than the Cleveland 56 meter

The higher the number, the slower the meter.

Makes me wonder about what a 0 meter speed means - infinity or speed of light?

Then what number represents a meter that does not move - maybe 5....lol

So far only see numbers to the tenth, can they go the hundredths such as 3.67 or beyond.

Icon, thanks for the straight talk.

But between the lines it seems more and more certain that the British Open on WGT is a thing of the past.

Can't say enough about this combo myself. This in the last 3 rounds today. WTF?

Might have to go find a lottery ticket today. LOL

No Wind unlimiteds are a great place to get the clubs tuned in. You don't have wind to jerk you around and playing multiple times gets you a really good look at what they can do. It also shows just how much deviation plays a part. One thing you learn is that the wind, however low, really gets in the way of a shot.

YJ, this  one has troubled me for the longest time!

I don't know why, but I just CANNOT play no wind, I've played a fair few, but I always have numerous (different) problems, everything seems about 10 yards or more inexact.

As an example if I enter a no wind tourney I'll usually end up 500ish, but if I enter a high wind tourney I'll often end up in the top 100. Now I know I'm no great player but no wind just seems to mess me up.

First off well played Jim - super stuff.  You gave FOUND your combo:)

Agreed there.  Make the most of that.  Probably the best basic guide you can get to take you forward more generally.  As a Legend there was one of those at RSG - excellent to really hone the irons in.  Very good point (listening WGT ? for TL comps:).

Yes although I don't remember it being as severe with the R11s as with the Nikes (bearing in mind the Nike ball I use).  Seems as consistent as you would reasonably expect though as say, and so all good.
