WGT Tour - Tier improvement??!

  which is absolutely farcical

  what is the point of having tier based year long leader boards when those that are doing well in the lower levels will tier up out of good positions

  the winner of pro - tour pro - master leader boards will most likely only play well in the last few events

   

  or maybe the legend that is leading the legend tier by miles and gets tiered up before the end 

   

  what is the point ????????

  Congrats Hans, you wont be missed LOL. If we could just advance (beached) life would be even better, i see no matter how many 80's (Beached) posts, he will be asymilated to TL and he wont be missed either LOL. ReKanaya is next to be TL and he wont be missed either.

  I also advanced to TL after my first round of the TransAmerica. Before teeing off for the second round I saw the Legend conditions (Low winds / Tourney greens), but when I teed off I had high winds and Champ greens. Can I ask what your playing conditions were, Hans?

  Oilyrag, you have a valid point. I am interested to see how the year-long leader boards evolve each month.

  One thing that I haven't been able to find much detail on is this:

  " ... accumulating WGT Credits during the season to qualify for the Virtual Championship in December."

  If the championship is setup such that players (regardless of their current tier) with the highest credit totals qualify, then maybe it makes sense. Higher tiers have a higher level of competition and hence, higher payouts.
  If anyone knows of a thread with detailed info on qualifying for the virtual championship (specifically, if it will still incorporate WGT's tiers), I'd be interested to read through it.

  Yep :(

  Hans (and others promoted) will have to compete in their respective tier with experienced competitors and a 40% increased purse. The winnings will count in the Legend Championship leaderboard regardless.

  For the Virtual Tour, he will be promoted, too, after the first winning.

  BTW: Will the final Championship be a tiered competition, too? The T&Cs are vague:

  In December, top players from the season will compete in the WGT Virtual Championship [...]

  The "attack" is towards wgt

   

  so lets make it a little clearer

   

  current leader of the virtual tour - pro section

  1st event - ioa - plays as pro

  2nd event - trans - plays as tour pro

   

  current leader of virtual tour - legend section

  1st event - ioa - plays as tour master

  2nd event - trans - plays as legend

   

   

  What exactly is " the tier based virtual tour "? "
