List grows of what and where not to buy...

    Dick's  (aptly named )

    Korbel plonck

    Lexus cars

did you buy before all of this?  would you have had this never been a 'thing'?

just wondering - i know I haven't and am not about to boycott something I never would've given my patronage too anyhow.

    To answer your 1st question...

Dick's....no  ( not a sports shop I've been in whilst over there )

Korbel...no  ( That'd be like buying Cava over here when what u want is Champagne )

    Lexus...yes  ( 2003 SC430, dumped after 14 months, looked better than it drove )

    To answer your 2nd question...

Dick's... IF I was stuck in Hickville USA and forgotten to take my football boots with me on holiday and met up with 4 ppl looking to make up a 5 o side team....then just maybe !

Korbel...Only if I was christening a ship would a bottle purchase seem an acceptable  use of its contents

Lexus...Normally 'Down with the Sisterhood', BUT, if they bring a new car out I want and can justify the price tag then............Fook no free female avatars in the Open, I'm gettin one !!

    LOL

I just played the Tourney using the ball they gave us for entering.  Not using that ball on a regular basis meant I was above the hole on most my approach shots. Champ Speed Greens for Legend Tier kinda took me by surprise. Was a lot harder to judge than I remember. The downhill putts just killed me. Either miss long or miss short from being scared. Made a bit of a mess of the thing but it was fun to try the Champ Speed Greens again anyway.

    GL to the willing...

i thought exactly the same when i saw that roger - pffft credits tourney only for US players. just another WORLD golf farce imo. maybe ill just change my flag and i can play - seems to be the trend nowadays.

Well the way I see if WGT chooses to enforce the rule, they would do it with IP, rather than a simple little flag you can change yourself. To me it's like a wink wink rule meant to please everybody. Play away get a free ball and have fun.

I'm a courier in Australia....   delivering parcels to people from Fedex, Dhl and Ups.... They are the main ones....  People are getting parcels from the US in 3 days over here now at a very small delivery price.   It's cheaper for us to buy things overseas over the Net than to walk down the street and buy something in Australia.

I see it from my perspective as an importer, wholesaler and some retail. For small items I am happy to use my account to bring in small packages as the ease of less paperwork is appealing.

For heavy and bulky items it is not commercial viable to use the likes of Fedex, DHL or UPS as the cost is high. Occasionally I will revert to using them but the cost can be up to $200 for a box weighing 30kg. If there are a lot of items in that box it is viable, if it is one or two items the value of the product must warrant it. Otherwise it is a container via sea shipping.

As for the companies mentioned, they often have their own aircraft, pilots,  maintenance, landing fees, fuel etc, (and it is a hell of a flight schedule doing  freight) so need a lot of packages to make it viable.

But I concur often prices are cheaper (depending on the weight and volume of the goods) (including freight) buying from overseas and there is no GST to pay. But depending on where the items are coming from, the quality can be poor, no comeback for the consumer and occasionally are dangerous.
