    Spammage:

Mainz - after three rounds with the L100 Nike I would have said the same thing.  After playing numerous rounds with it I don't know if the R1 will ever see my bag again.  It is probably shorter overall by a yard or two (maybe????) but the added carry allows things that the R1 just can't do.  My suggestion is to let them fix the bug with Avatar angles and wait for the (hopefully) free rental period during Masters weekend to give it a shot yourself before plunking down your hard earned dough.

Thanks Spammage, hopefully there'll be a free rental weekend soon and I can give one a few smacks for free.

I can think of a few situations where the extra loft and fast stop would be a big help.  CCC #5 comes to mind straight away.  Clear the bunkers and stop before running across the fairway into the rough.

Gear freak overload going on here right now.

+100 ... plus into heavy winds on some long par 3's that even that new 3 wood won't reach ....

Well, I see you bought the new driver manizman. How is it?

Yep, didn't take much of a clairvoyant to see that purchase coming eh?

I've only played 9 holes with it, St. Andrews back 9, but first impressions are good.   It carries surprisingly well into a head wind, better than I expected.

Too early to tell if it's better or worse than the R1 but it is new and matches my 3 wood.

    Damn, I need help.

I just played against a club member with the BB and he outdrove my R1 on every hole. Sometimes by 5 yards.

That is the only course where I might play the R1 instead of the L100 Nike MainzMan.  The higher lofted drivers don't particularly care for the hilly fairways on St Andy's and the R1 will usually get you more rollout.  I typically use a little top spin when playing with the L100 Nike on St Andy's.

I agree, I bought it and then entered a 9 hole bracket tourney, forgetting the first round is always St. Andy's.

I think I may actually keep the R1 just for this course and maybe RSG if winds are high.

    Hi Steven

You will notice a "dramatic" loss of forgiveness if you miss ding on the wrong side with Bertha!

I am not fun of it, and only use it in strong wind.

    Just my opinion.
