  on 7th hole 19 mph direct tailwind set up driver 225 yard shot hit dinger ball only travels aprox 197 in rough  can we please have a valid explanation as to why .the playing from the rough no mater what shot you play almost  every time into large bunker at front of green .

  8th hole set you shot up correct  hit dinger   come up short ..

  a cynical person  might think this is ploy to encourage people to purchase clubs.

  looking forward to an explanation

  I remember...

  As a Pro with Starters I'd hit short of the 7th FW most of the time. This makes #7 a three-shotter (sp?). You'd have to lay up before the bunker and use wedge to the green from there. A 5 was good then, rare Pars spiced it up. IIRC, this hole was the main cause to buy(!) a 3WD. I was about at lvl 50 then, got me a lvl47 Rapture (230 yds, discontinued) which was a true companion replacing the driver until I hit Master.

  You have more options, e.g. the G20 3WD of 240 yds if you choose so.

  There's an alternative to bail out left, with OOB lurking and a long second shot.

  At #8, it's the low trajectory of the Starters which causes woes - change strategy (e.g. play from the rough in the back) or change clubs :)

  Regarding the alleged ploy, keep in mind that they want nothing but our best - for themselves. Some call it capitalism, and I'm told that it's not unknown down under ;)

  #7 is tough with starters into a headwind. Best ploy. play left fairway but be careful not to go too far left as it is OB in this game. Or accept it is three shots to the green.

  #8 Short pin, you will not get close as the irons do not have a high trajectory, back pin close to get close buy running the ball up.The wind on this hole seem to have a greater effect,  probably  as it is very exposed.

  If you want to improve scoring you will need to earn some credits or sink some coin into the game. It is a business first, but you have the option of playing for free.

  Better clubs will not  necessarily  mean more enjoyment, but for me itdid. I used starters for a year, the second I upgraded I scored and enjoyed the game a lot more.

  it was 19 mph wind direct from behind ..I do play the long way and can reach in two shots if a head wind  but when the club hits 225 and that is past the said rough someone is amiss.. any other fairway the shots are fine with same tail wind getting over 260 yards ..

  under par is not uncommon for me on the course .played probably 500 rounds on the front 9 at st Andrews .

  if they could sort out the loading and other issues I would buy clubs..
