All good points Warof1812.  However, you did overlook one thing, not based in reality.  The fact that you can chat/talk during the other player's swing so that your thoughts and comments are ready for him/her to read after their shot.  So a bit different than real golf.  In general I'd say 45 seconds should be enough.  And yes, I do enjoy chatting while I play golf on this site... and otherwise.

You can't talk about the shot you're about to take yourself, discuss it with your opponent, etc., if you were to talk only while your opponent is taking his shot.

I'm amazed by the occasional human tendency to create rules where no rules really are necessary. Give the game host the option to choose whatever timer between 30 and 90 seconds he/she prefers, or no timer at all! Why would anyone want to impose a single timer onto every WGT player?

Hi Faterson.  I was suggesting and supporting 45 seconds as an option.  Not as the only time limit offered.

Did anybody notice the timer in the new Blitz format?   60 seconds.............

Yes.  I also noticed if you are unfortunate to have a slow loading connection switching to zoom and back can steal a big chunk of your time.  And its not much fun playing CTTH without zooming to aim.

Options on timer settings would be a good thing on Blitz as well as multi-player.

    Hi all,

I would totally agree about a 60 second shot clock.

30 seconds is just way too insane especially with the degree of difficulty. You DO need some time to "think" through your shots.

90 seconds is too long. 60 seconds is perfect, and plenty of time from driving to putting.

    Cheers,

    Fox

Ya'll need to find a stock car racing sim ... too much noise to talk, so speed is all that matters.

As much of a proponent of reducing the clock, I am now also a huge fan of the NO CLOCK idea.  If I am playing someone new, 45-60 seconds is fine, we all know switching views, a couple of hiccups in meter and now you need to rush your shot, but in general 45-60 handles that nicely.  But also playing with some pals the NO CLOCK would be awesome.  Someone needs to drop a deuce, no problem.  Someone needs to grab a brew, no problem.

Although there is an advantage to the clock, I have learned to run through my house like a freaking ninja making no noise so the kid doesn't wake up, just to grab a beer from the fridge.

Definately the 60 sec is the way to go...I don't like winning b/c my opponent got a stroke penalty and the second time it's two strokes...I just don't think that's fair...just my two cents.
