Hole 1, the 4th at Kiawah. IMHO, this is the hardest hole at Kiawah, and one of the toughest on the Par 4 course. Unless you can 'throw a dart' with your 3i or 4i from 200+ yards out, you are simply playing for par here.
Hole 2, the 5th at Bethpage. Another long iron into a 20+ foot elevated green well guarded by bunkers and deep rough. Quite simply put, I hate this hole.
Hole 3, the 9th at St George. You absolutely can not miss right on your approach, otherwise this hole really isn't too bad.
Hole 4, the 1st at Olympic. Reachable in 2, but only if the wind is in your favor. Otherwise, you're relying on your wedge game to save par.
Hole 5, the 6th at Merion. Difficulty here is dependent on the hole location. Pray for front center, otherwise a 3 putt is VERY much in play.
Hole 6, the 17th at St Andrews. If you can just find the fairway and hold the green on the approach its an easy par, but that is much easier said than done I'm afraid.
Hole 7, the 18th at Cabo. You really don't want to miss long here, but every once in a while you can get lucky and just sneak one in.
Hole 8, the 4th at Whistler. Miss long, and you've got a tricky downhill putt. Miss short, and you've got a nasty ridge to clear. Even so called 'tap ins' aren't safe here - the last time I played this hole, I missed a 1.7 footer for par. A Bird here is likely to pick up a stroke or more on the rest of the field.
Hole 9, the 18th at Kiawah. Unless you find the sand off the tee, you shouldn't have any trouble here.
Hole 10, the 2nd at St Andrews. One of the most unforgiving greens on the course, and making par here is a great score.
Hole 11, the 18th at Merion. For some reason I always struggle to reach this green in two, even though I don't play from the legend tees. Go figure.
Hole 12, the 15th at St George. Just don't miss short here, and you should have an easy par.
Hole 13, the 12th at Whistler. Another hole where you absolutely can not miss long. But miss too far short, and you've got a very tricky uphiller with lots of break in play. Once again, Par is a great score here.
Hole 14, the 3rd at Cabo. Measuring just 314 yards from the legend tees, this one is reachable for the 'Big Guns.' Just don't find the sand off the tee, and you've got a great chance at Bird here.
Hole 15, the 15th at Bethpage. In my opinion, no other hole better personifies the 'Nightmare Scenario' at WGT: a long iron into an extremely elevated green that is well guarded by bunkers and deep rough. And even if you do manage to find the green, there is so much slope on both hole locations that a 2 putt is extremely difficult.
Hole 16, the 5th at Olympic. A tricky little dog leg that requires precision off the tee to find the fairway. Try to cut the corner and you put the giant Redwoods in play; choke down with a 3w and you're left with quite a long second shot. Lots of slope on this front left pin, and anything over 2 feet is a major knee knocker.
Hole 17, the 5th at Merion. No other hole in this game requires more precision on the approach, regardless of hole location.
Hole 18, the 18th at Congressional. Club selection is tricky here, due to the elevation change as well as the pond. Back left pin, don't miss short -- there is a nasty little ridge running through the center of the green making putting difficult. Front left pin, just stay in front of the ridge and you're golden.
