I can't believe people still talking about this ***....

Those fuckin balls are ***. Those balls regularly fly 10-15 yrds longer on holes with wind in either in the face or behind. They go where ever the hell they want most of the time.

I watched your replay, never did before... I see nothing wrong with the result if you hit one of those balls with a 130 yrd club full swing with a 4 mph wind behind you. Hell with the way wind is here these days I'm surprised it didn't go longer.

Whole game is a 'bug' now... Those ball are junk, just a bad shot man... God 4 pages to anaylize that? LoL

SPINO1 'Why don't you have a practice yourself ..that way you wont need to ask '

Thanks, and I did what you said the past few days!  ...though they were ranked tourneys, not practice,  w/ proshop balls gifted by WGT. The result was more Eagles than I've ever had is the shortest amount of time.

The simple response to my question was answered by

     ApexPC who wrote:

"1. Yes, all other variables being equal for those types of shot.

    2. No."

My questions that he responded to:

    1) The main query is a ball w/ a rating of, say, '2' will go farther than a starter ball (0) but is that on drives and punches, pitches, chips etc?

    2) Is that extra distance on putts, too? (I've heard 'not on putts')

    --------------

I figured the WGT forum ('for the discussion of questions of public interest.') would be the place to open up the subject esp. because the possible consensus is that the distance rating does/might not apply to the putts, which in my firm opinion, should be addressed or affirmed by WGT and/or added to the item description if warranted.

I think a lot of new members might save a lot of time and credits if they had the info, then the forums would be less rife with people wanting refunds for their balls and getting mad because of misunderstood results.

Personally, I have received all of my credits (thus equipment) from the wonderful 'earn free credits' option WGT has provided. I don't have loads of creds to burn. But I can attest to the debated claim that the game is free to play is monetarily factual.

Again, my proshop balls have been gifted by WGT. Thanks to them! (the Heart Vapor ball animation looks cool on my Twitch TV videos ,to boot)

I admit I am obviously parsimonious, which might just be a little too cheap, in retrospect.

IMO, Still the lifelike Deviation programming is still denied or disregarded . I'll restate it as it seems to be the root of much ire.

Richard4168   (from 'the pro VEM thread')

"Deviation = shot randomness. On most shots, the ball flies or rolls to the target line via an excellent shot (ding), but then there's shots that are sometimes slightly miscued. The Deviation feature keeps this game in a more virtual reality, instead of virtual perfection. Which many have said would be quite boring and non challenging.'

Or as VEM 9000 has dittoed :

"All of my systems are fully operational.. let me tell you, it's a thankless job at best. My function, whether you believe or not, is to keep this game from becoming too predictable, there are other games for that, thank you very much.

    VEM :) "

In the FAQ's, it is stated by WGT that all putted balls react the same...now that said, I think Bohese,sp> did a study, and maybe Andy did too, and seems the spread was larger with starter balls than with whatever premium ball that was used.

Mike, the study I think you're referring to was strictly on putters.  The starter ball was used and no premium balls were spent taking mulligans.

There's nothing wrong with that ball, just a longer lvl 61 Nike,  but 2-3 yrds is not enough to justify an extra $1.50 a sleeve....

That's right, starter balls but different putter.

Does it explain that all balls react in regard to distance the same?

I'm looking at the FAQ 'Balls' and I can't find wording other than 'The new balls can give you additional distance'.

Whatever way, I think it can be added to the product description, if warranted.

    edit

I just did a text search of the word 'react' in the FAQ and nothing came up. Then I searched 'putt' and I saw nothing about proshop balls distance rating applying for the drives but not the putts.
