My Vforged wedge rated 130 yards MAX found 11 more yards in order to bury my ball in a bunker

Your L85 Vforged wedge is rated at 115, so I think you hit 9I which is likely rated at 130 but off a tee will carry a bit further.  If you hit it full thinking you had PW, but had 9I with that wind 141yds is possible.

I've choked down some on my 9I (rated 135) with full backspin with that wind and been close.  It's not necessary to punch every shot on that hole.

In fact, here's a replay L97 Nike VF 9I full back spin at 97% power...

Just put it in the hole next time andy lmao ns btw

This is something I've been wondering about: How much distance can you expect from the proshop balls (compared to the starter balls '0') and I asked the question in a new post called:

    Ball distance rating applies/means?

    http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/235790.aspx

I know the answer may require some detail and length but I haven't got a reply. I might try out some of those extra distance balls but I'd like to know a little more about it before I do.

The other question is 'Do the extra distance balls add distance to the Pitch also? Chip? Flop? etc?

And if they don't add extra distance to those shots or the putts I think that should be noted in the product description. I'll keep searching the forum and asking other players for answers.

Spin is as important as distance, I have a free ball with like 2 spin rating 4.5 distance...full backspin it is longer than my nike 61 3.5 spin 4.5 distance by 3-4 yrds on a full shot...

the better ball add a LOT of distance compared to starter balls WITH the BETTER CLUBS..

they reduce the distance on flops/chips because of the spin stops it, little or no rollout, but they make them more accurate....

My preferred default shot to that pin at that hole hole  is a punched 8 iron, but other ways of doing it of course.

You never said what power / spin you used, but a 9 iron with a 4 MPH tail is way capable of landing precisely where it did. You also demonstrated no knowledge of how that hole usually plays with your preferred shot.

The only problem is that you have not mapped your irons properly with your one choice of ball.

Personally I use BPB B9 #10 for all long irons to get a rough good idea for long iron approaches.  Taking only dings in low cross wind the average of 5 shots each iron, FBS, 75%, 50% and 25% BS at 100% power.  Then each iron 100% power and then tiny amounts of so 97.%, 95%.  Mid irons I do at Beth #10 and practice the lot Beth #11.  Off the tee you need to know how those irons work again...Beth #3 just a cross wind I can play mt preferred ball / 3 iron no wind and easily reach the back pin, but FBS the very high spin I would be lucky to be going 222 yards hit 100%.

Dont really know the answer never thought about trying it lol (i know good balls stop better )but people say balls dont affect putting but i think they do i feel my callies go a tad farther than the starter ones might just be me

I'll just have to conclude you've all lost your minds...or something.

If you're comfy in the knowledge a 130 yard shot is acceptable going 141, or even 145 as has been suggested, with a 4mph wind on level tee to green ground, that's cool with me.

Just don't say a word when it happens to you. But of course you will...

    * for the record,  I had a small amount of backspin applied, and hit the shot 100% ( 130 )

Just jot down notes on each hole. Some distances on here are just wrong. It's the same in real life.

Good conclusion but i seen it go that far as per the replay try the hole a few more times with the same shot then report back (I will need some recorded videos not replays)

But I would not be playing that shot as I explained.

Luck you only went as far as the bunker then:)  You just need to learn your irons, and then accept some holes do just play a little different, and maybe that 3.10 par 3 stat / some others will start coming down (edit : not many RRs to go by).
