    Hi All,

My two-penn'th is this. I have heard SO MANY TIMES people complaining about iron shots coming up short or flying too far left/right after painstaking mathematical calculations etc on their part. This feature gives a legitimate 'Real World' reason for such discrepancies.

Winds swirl, gust, change when at an above tree level, etc. Confession, I don't play golf in the real world, but sure as night follows day, I have listened to enough commentary on TV and lived long enough to know that wind is never as predictable as 'n' mph from any precise direction consistantly.

So, in my opinion, it's a realistic change. And people of WGT world, it's the same for everybody so we can all relax and I'm sure get used to it in time.

What say you, the calm and unflusterable?

    Have a groovy day, folks,

    AFD

However, I'd have liked to see more variation, I think 2mph isn't enough.  Maybe have 3 for low wind, 6 for medium and 9 for heavy

It would be even more realistic if you could be sure that if the green was surrounded by trees then you could go with the lower figure and if it was out in the open, the higher one.

I like that idea, though it might have the programmers shaking their heads :)

I believe the wind has always been like that, WGT just now put it in writing for us to see

Personally - and I am not a big credit player or winner - but for realism I think rather than 9-11mph or 17-19mph where you just take the middle number(which seems to work just fine), the deviation should be a bit more.

I think a 4mph deviation or more of a wind angle variability would make this game a bit more tense and real. It would especially ring true when approaching or driving over hazards.

Even the really good players would hesitate a bit more and likely play more safe than always shooting directly for the pin.

As with the pros, there are times where they HAVE to just shoot for middle of the green on certain pins. On wgt there is really very limited times where you can't shoot for the pin, especially for the guys/gals that are really talented here.

    my $0.02

It's the stimpmeter rating for the green.  Basically the higher the number the faster the green plays.
