I'm shocked at what wgt has done to the wind speed indication by giving a range of what the wind speed could be.  I find it pointless and stupid and I think they should go back to giving a single number.  It really doesn't make the game all that much harder and it looks stupid on the screen.  What do others think?

I think it's great. It gives a more accurate display.

How i this greater? I am wondeing why WGT choose to have a range of wind speed. I think WGT has made a bad decision. This is a virtual game and we should have the most accurate details of every hole. Unlike in real golf, we have to guess around the wind speed. WGT seems to want to make the game more real-like. I think we should keep WGT as virtual as possible. :P

Let's say that the numbers say 7/9 then the winds are between those two figures. How is displaying 8 more accurate? Don't forget that the winds are the same as they always were.

I like it too, I think it's a big step in the direction or more realism and, hopefully, more realistic scores.  In real life you don't stand on the tee and know the wind is blowing at a constant 11mph from the South West or whatever.

However, I'd have liked to see more variation, I think 2mph isn't enough.  Maybe have 3 for low wind, 6 for medium and 9 for heavy.   That way if you're playing medium or heavy wind to a pin close to a roll off, RSG #9 or 18 for instance, you'll have to play safe and have a long putt for birdie or risk a pitch and putt to save par if you go for the flag.

I have heard of one player who saw a big variation at St. Andrews but it sounds like it may have been a one off.

It would be even more realistic if you could be sure that if the green was surrounded by trees then you could go with the lower figure and if it was out in the open, the higher one.
