Thoughts please - New Tier Above Tour Legends?

  This is a very good and reasonable idea that WGT should consider. Not a new tier.

  The tee-boxes being maxed out for length doesn't warrant a new tier.

  Any current Tour Legend player has the playing potential to win a top prize on any given day. IMO

  Why would anybody care for these?

  Egobaggers stepping up prematurely need no special attention - they disappear by themselves. No extra top tier necessary.

  Good idea Andy. I suggested something similar earlier but a Tour Card system would be great. 

  We should have a Q-school and then Elite Tier tournaments each week. If at the end of a certain period you are in the bottom few then you lose your card and back to Q-school you go to try and get back on the tour.

  1 Q-school tournament: Top 100 get a card

  8 weekly tournaments with an order of merit.

  Top 50 on the order of merit keep there card for the next 8 weeks

  Bottom 50 go back to Q-school with everyone else for another tournament with the top 50 getting a card to compete with the other 50.

  Not only that , but why do people care so much , about how the next person , tiers up ? If that person wants to play whatever course , what does it matter , to the next person .A new tier wont change anything . Also it will only happen , if WGT can see a profit from doing so . They are not going to create a new tier , just for 2 - 300 players . So the question is , how many players will be willing to jump through more hoops , to advance to a new tier ?

  Ya I say add a new Tier and when you do.   Back up there teebox..     The game has seemed to get just a little to easy for some .      

    If there really that good then they shouldn't have many problems adjusting.    Which I am sure they wont

  This is all very great feedback and I am so proud of our community, that we can have such a mature and thoughtful discuss.  Kudos to you WGT players,

  There is just so many nice nuggets of wisdom here it will take our product team a bit of time to work this through.

  One questions is:  if we did do some type of Q-school or some how limited the highest tier, what would those few people be doing on wgt.  Assuming they would not play in the tiered RG's and Brackets?  They would in theory win all the "Open" tier  and official Virtual Tour tournaments.  What could we give you, highest tier, players to keep you interested?

  Tournaments  were they compete against each other for some gift cards worth more than $5.00 bucks.

  first thing you could do is add credits to the purse in tier specific ready go's.  while you're at it, close the opens to entry :) or give them a 10 stroke handi lol

  Two things strike me:

  1. There is a Need for a new tier.  It's not ego anything.

  We all accept Legend is easier than ever to reach.  TL can come in a manipulated way, and for some easily by L90 ish.  After TL saturation (400 RRs ample IMO) the actual real talents get encouraged with only 100 more RRs before the pro shop is opened / even a 1000 credit well done.  This is a way of keeping people interested that might otherwise lose that interest, and they will only be getting stuff a bit early.  L98 seems a long way of from L90, and so give the leap frog carrot.  Nothing easy about it if done properly all courses as described above.

  This is the main stream side of things that most can aspire to.  EDIT: I do wonder though if the WGT system would be over loaded by it?? 

  2. Q School

  I see this as a good thing for the elite and fine for that.

  RGs I think need to be open still as they simply do not fill up if not, nothing can be done about that.  Point 1 above might persuade a few more to get better though, and for a smaller number  Q school would something else to fight for. Maybe a special annual tourney for any qualifiers that year???

  Slightly separately and probably going on a tangent, but no need to get tees back and no need to get greens faster.  Balls sticking so much could be thought about as could the driver being so easy to hit.  Watching PH the driver is a very considered thing.  Comes up often but that last 10% red zone or power where you lose 1/2 the forgiveness  if don't ding I think is a good one............
