Any one qualified for open lately?

  In the last few days has any one managed to score a 57 or better to qualify for virtual open?  I don't know if its just me, but it seems WGT has closed the qualifying places LOL and we're just wasting balls.  They are not accepting any more with a low score.   I've been playing Pinehurst qualifier for 8 hours in a row and can not get under 58. Twice I've had 58 with 3 holes remaining only to get shots which take their own line or ignore wind.  Another time i had putt which was destined to drop just lip out on back and defy logic.  I'm only kidding with WGT closing the qualifying scores to stop them paying out even more credits (no USGA prizes this year)  I shouldn't have left qualifying so late, I'm usually done within a week.  These Pinehurst greens are awkward!!

  I threw away my best qualifying score last month when i only had to par 18 and i would have scored 56, but instead over shot the green and my attempt to get back on green rolled down hill and although i missed the par putt i only had 3 foot putt for bogey and a 57 but i was so annoyed with myself i didn't concentrate and even missed the 3 footer.LOL a 56 turned into another 58  (but all my fault after, i should have played safe )

  It gives me some comfort knowing an excellent player like yourself Chris, is experiencing the same difficulty in getting a 57 or lower. I've had 15 scores between 58 & 60 and just seem unable to crack it. I'm sure you'll do it, just keep at it :O)

  shot 57 the first week havent been able to come close again, even with shooting 27 on the front, they seem to mess with things when it comes time to do good.

  same thing going on over here.

  I haven't played the qualifier since I posted a score I thought would get me in (plenty of AS though), but have been watching the leader board the past few days, and have noticed it's been sitting at 233? qualifiers without change.

   

  I know there are some 57's left out there, for sure guys like (both Chris's) such as yourselves...both of you know this game so well, don't out think it...just play it and enjoy it:)

  Not been round yet ( and refuse to whilst moderated ) , but if 57 is the script ....how hard can it be ??

  I think a few qualified  over the weekend. Since I'm on the bubble and this might be my first time making the cut. I have been watching pretty close.

  And just  mentioning  to  all the players attempting to qualify. All you need is a 57, there is no need  for anything lower.....lol

  Well I wasn't one of them - had a 20 foot putt on 18 for a 57, 4 inches short GRRRR.

  Anyone who shoots a 57 or better must be a effin cheetah :))

  At least it saves me the embarassment of carding triple figure each round......
