    Thursday, 26th June 2014 marked the one year anniversary of the day I finished Q school and earned my Tour card.  It was rough going at first with the starter bag, but slowly, ever so slowly I began to improve and my scores started to drop.  I've managed to earn thousands of free credits, bought some excellent new equipment, had a few lucky shots, even one or two lucky rounds where skill is on my side and I find the occasional Bird.  But after reaching the Master tees at ~level 79, it seems I've hit a wall, and have not been able to advance any further.......and my independent, unscientific analysis has pointed to a single reason why I continue to struggle:

    The video turned out a little big longer than I had anticipated, but it is all relevant. Close only counts in Horseshoes and hand grenades, and no truer words have ever been spoken here at WGT golf.

    I shut'er down after the 3rd putt...I'd aassumed you were trying to putt off-ding, but reality is you are just not playing eough break...re-watch your vid...learn from it...

    The first putt I though "if he hits late...-or was it early, I forget- he'll have a chance, but you have to notice a few things about putting

    #1...speed of the dots, not just directions.

    You (from what I see, seem to feel fast dots or slow moving dots are all the same...you have to aim more for faster dots moving.

    This may sound mundane, but try to miss on the high side of the hole...

    Plus, you're playing way to much speed...look up "notonthis" in you tube, watch hime putt...you be Legend in no time:)

    I never studied everything in honesty.  Looking at what I did you included mostly very difficult putts.  Not saying I would make them at any given time, but overall the impression I got was:

    1. You would benefit from thinking more about where you finish with your approach;

    2. A good few seemed to miss low side.  If this really is ongoing that's a possible help in itself;

    3. Legend Tourney I saw one slide by very high side, but your power setting made that look exactly what I expected.  Do you have a good understanding of all the speeds??

    4. You do not move your aim marker around for longitude.  Remember a slight aim marker movement that way could reveal an 11 foot 1 up putt actually being 12 feet and 2 up, and etc etc etc

    You should also have a check all the way along your putting line to check any bumps (elevation changes that may affect strength needed).

    5. Pitch reverse view I also rely on heavily.  I move it around much to try and understand the whole line from ball to cup centre.  If I think I can't easily see the whole line I will change views until I think I can.

    No magical fix for putting, but a few things that may help I hope.

    No offense but I just went to the next putt on all but 4 putts because there was no doubt you were going to miss it...on a couple of 'em twice as much break as you played wasn't enough...you had a 5ft putt playing  the right edge with 4.5 power with the dots moving at 4 on a 5 scale, noooooo chance to make that putt....same thing with the 3 ft putt...

    on the long downhill double breaker with 1/3 strong break to the R, 1/3 easy break still going right and 1/3 very slight break coming back to the left, you had the arrow on the right side of the hole the distance it should have been on the left side....

    look at g0lds formula and practice it, then look at tekomas video, or lizards, etc, then you'll have an idea where to start at

    on the other hand some great approach shots....

    This is, for me anyway, vital to understanding the line of the putt.  I always switch to pitch view and the reverse camera.  Then try to get the whole lengh of the putt between 2 grid lines, if you have a line running through where the ball will go this can give a false indication of break.

    I too watchd the first few then skipped a bit but also noticed the tendancy was to miss on the low side.   A ball that goes 1 inch high always has a chance of dropping in the side of the hole, one that goes 1 inch low will miss every single time.  By aiming too much into the break you effectively give yourself a bigger target.   Try allowing as much break as you feel necessary, then add another foot and see how that works.

    Don't give up on it, it'll work out.  You did the right thing posting about it, there is a ton of knowledge within the community which will help you a lot.

    Get a good formula for getting the power right first. It doesn't matter if getting the break exactly right eludes you to begin with as long as you are not miles from the cup for your second putt.

    Once you have got the power nailed, then you can work on the break. Giving a breaking putt just enough ooomph to maintain a constant curve makes the intersection point between that curve and the cup a lot easier to predict, (not easy, but easier).

    A breaking putt's path will change as it slows down, this makes it difficult to know exactly where the ball will go. Hitting the ball hard enough to maintain a constant curve to the point where it intercepts the cup makes it easier to know where the ball is going. Therefore giving the putt enough power to maintain a constant curve through the hole is vital, but without going too far past.

    Get a good power formula, get a putter pal, WGT's own, a home made one or a third party one.

    (...and try the chip/pitch/flop view grid also as it can be moved around with the aim marker, unlike the putting grid which can't.)

    When I type in 'notonthis' into the youtube search I get 9 results and only one is WGT and it's a woman. Maybe it's something on my end. Any direct links are welcome.
