Just took a look at the leaderboard. We knew the first round quitters would have cover without their names showing but seeing some of the 2nd round quitters is a little disheartening really. Ego can't take a couple of rounds with mortal scores? Took the time and effort to qualify just to take the 2000 credits and deny an enthusiastic player from competing. Sometimes I can only shake my head at the same players.

46 didn't card a first round score. Some surprising names there too, if you had the list. 11 so far have dropped during round two. That's one-fifth of all players that qualified and the second round isn't completed.

Thing is C, some are just in it to win it...or go home.

Now, let's just say of the 50 plus that didn't post or WD'ed, it'd have not made a diffenerce to those wanting to play in the open...cut line would have still been 57...even if the top 50 players scores were removed.

But, I understand where ya come from...too many "John Dalys"..(as he was back in the day) that would walk off the course during a bad round.

Makes you winder if image/ego is involved and if some of those qualifiers had somebody else qualify for them.

Think I've calculated this correctly...if all but nine drop out, I've got an outside chance at a top 10 finish.

I don't think so (hope not anyways)...but I recall Brandon (Notonthis) saying he'd WD from a Front 9 KI RG, if he wasn't 3 under after 3...Brandon is a hell of va player, but just wants to win...I think many of the WD's/no scores posted...might be of the same mentality.

I mean look at me...63 63, no chance in hell to win or sniff it...but I'm also the kind of guy who'll post a 33 in a RG...lol!

But I follow along what Cerino's way of thinking...play it till it's done...heck ya!

Shot a mediocre 62 in the first round so I tried to "ramp it up" in the second.  It didn't turn out well.  Seemed like every shot I was pressing just a little too much.  Ended up shooting a horrible, for these conditions, 65.

Should I just WD now ?  Well forget that.  I may be in 87th place but I'm still going to finish out the tournament (any tournament).

Who knows I could shoot back to back 53s.  I still wouldn't win but it isn't really about that.  For me it's about trying to do the best I can do.

My Dad used to say, "The race may not always go to the swiftest, nor the fight to the strongest, but that's the way to bet!"
