another 63 for me with annoying bogies on the first and last holes.

Only 12 behind the leader lol.  Just noticed I might be the lowest level player involved too!

46 didn't card a first round score. Some surprising names there too, if you had the list

Makes you winder if image/ego is involved and if some of those qualifiers had somebody else qualify for them.

Possibly that and I can think of another couple scenarios that might be in play that I prefer to keep to myself, but might have to do with the level of scrutiny a player would have to undergo if they accidently won.

63 - 64 here. But, the first and last 3 holes have been my only saving grace so far. -12 on those holes, -1 in between. Shortest putt for birdie I had in round two from 4-15 was from 24 feet...

Just took a look at the leaderboard. We knew the first round quitters would have cover without their names showing but seeing some of the 2nd round quitters is a little disheartening really. Ego can't take a couple of rounds with mortal scores? Took the time and effort to qualify just to take the 2000 credits and deny an enthusiastic player from competing. Sometimes I can only shake my head at the same players.

Thing is C, some are just in it to win it...or go home.

Now, let's just say of the 50 plus that didn't post or WD'ed, it'd have not made a diffenerce to those wanting to play in the open...cut line would have still been 57...even if the top 50 players scores were removed.

But, I understand where ya come from...too many "John Dalys"..(as he was back in the day) that would walk off the course during a bad round.

I do understand that a player could think they've played themselves out of winning pretty early but not even finishing the first or second round is weak. Grab the 2000 credits(like they need them) and run off. Just weak. It's just 4 round scores that will be absorbed in 1000's of rounds like nothing. The ball usage excuse doesn't work here because WGT gave everyone qualified 2000 credits.

What do you think of the idea of WGT paying out 1000 credits to the players who qualify and then finish the first 2 rounds and the other 1000 credits if they finish all 4 rounds? Paying the 2000 credits up front for qualifying then having 20% not even finish 2 rounds was a waste of over 100,000 credits on WGT's part.

Also, wasn't there a general happiness about the VUSO finally being 4 rounds instead of just the 2 that's been done in the past? What happened?

If there were any reward for anything but first place I think a lot more would play it out. As is, second place is as worthless (compensation-wise) as last place. Others may be different, but I personally never WD from anything I paid to enter because even thirtieth in a RG gets me half my entry fee back. Then again, a handful of credits for 25th place to someone sitting on a 6 figure bankroll probably still wouldn't be enough motivation to finish.

That "pyramid" is the top of a hut on the course.

Just shot a 64 second round. Tough wind set, had headwinds on all the long holes. Couldn't even reach the greens on the 2 longest par 4's. Only had 2 tailwinds and on holes were you don't need them. Only 1 short putt and it looked like it hit some mud. It was rolling good and strong, stopped dead .o1 inch short. No WTF shots. All the misses were my fault. Looking forward to round 3. What's with all the WD's? I feel for all the players that shot 58's too see people withdrawing after 1 or 2 rounds.

After one of my best rounds on WGT in the frisr round, I came down to earth in round two as the faster green speed took it's toll on me.

Botched approach on four found the bunker left with little chance to get up and down.  One of the few times I had the wind to reach that hole and I early hit my approach.  Bogey there and a birdie on 5 got me back to four under.   Missed 2 putts inside 5 feet on the next four holes.

Started the back with 2 birdies and then ran off 5 pars in a row.  Missing 2 very short putts, one inside of 3 feet during that stretch.  Lipped out on 18 from 15 feet for a 63.   I guess I didn't kill myself with it but at worse it should have been a 60.

    Good luck to all.
