Cheers, Jim - well aware you chipped in with help previously (2 years ago?).

Only about the msconfig file, I never touched on the processes, that's Andyson's baliwick (or that dog guy.)  LOL

@Scott-good catch. After reading your post I opened the game client in CD and went to a game. This is what the TM looked like. It looks like that big number is typical which would make sense given the amount of memory the game needs.

Here's at the tee in Game Client on Chrome.  Window 7 (64bit) with a quad core processor at 3.3 Ghz (not over-clocked)

On my son's laptop with windows 8 OS - data pretty much the same. Clarity and detail of the fairways is something else though.  Plus, it's a first for me to be on a fairway on here without the sound of a helicopter taking off in the background!

    Lol.

Question, why do some of you guys have 5 Chrome processes going on whilst I have only 4,  would it be my single core processor?

EDIT : Normally I play with pepperflash disabled and the memory usage previously posted reflects that. But just for an experiment I have enabled pepperflash AND adobe flash together.  Memory usage has now dropped to 160,000K from 265,000K.

    Pepperflash only : 160,000K

    Adobeflash only :  260,000K

Noticed the 'CustomDesktopLogo.exe.'......  have a look on my profile page, Willy.

     :)

*Btw after opening your task manager image in a new tab......  can't believe the number of times I've instinctively attempted to 'scroll' it downwards..lmao

'Experimenting' here now too, Scott - odds on I'll no doubt be in the market for a new laptop directly.... back on my own lappy btw.... man  it's sooooo dull looking.

Yep that's from you Wiger, I've been using it for ages & love it. Thank you.

My mistake guys that first screenshot of mine is with Pepperflash enabled, had Adbobe Flash too but guess the Pepperflash overrides it. I could have sworn I disabled it, but I've uninstalled & re-installed so many times I probably forgot. This was causing many headaches & is why Flash was not working like it should with the Settings Manager. Here is the updated Task Manager with only Adobe Flash enabled. At the tee in Chrome

Notice 0% CPU Usage, now that's more like it.

Thanks for starting this thread Wiger & all the contributions. It would have been awhile before I caught the Pepperflash as I thought it was disabled. I don't know yet if it's going to help the meter with how it speeds up before the ding, but it's a big relief finding out what was up with the Flash Settings Manager.

Same here except with an Intel Duo  2.27 and 4 GB RAM. When I play it's in CD and every plugin except Flash is disabled. If I want to go anywhere I have to open a new browser.

I also always use a different browser for everything else but the game client too. I use Waterfox as my main browser & had a feeling it's not a good idea if I use Palemoon, Firefox, or Ice Dragon as my game client. They are all Mozilla based & they all use Shockwave Flash. This was my reason for going to Comodo Dragon or Chrome for the game client. CD & Chrome are Google based & use the Adobe Flash Player.

Please correct if any above is wrong, not 100% sure

I always disable all plugins & extensions except Flash in which ever browser I am using for the game client. Experimenting with blocking certain cookies now as well.                   http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/243945.aspx

I've got 16 Gb Ram installed
