    My two cents Johnny....

I see your memory usage in the second screen shot dropped to 568M from the 734M in the first screen shot.  That's good.

I don't normally run Chrome but gave it a go and with the forum page open in one window, and game client window open in another and standing on a first tee I used 498.  IMO that's in the same ballpark as your's.  Plus you've still got more than half your memory available.

I'm saying don't worry about Chrome's memory usage unless it grows and keeps growing after playing a couple of games.  That would mean a memory leak in either the game or browser. (a leak would be the game uses memory and does not return it to the O/S.

So restart Chrome, write down its usage then play a game and check.  Play another and check to see if it growing.

I see your CPU usage is 19 to 20%.  That's more of a worry  to me.  I was using 3 to 10% CPU standing on the 1st tee.

    Cheers for the input, Andy.

After looking at the usage from others I'm more comfortable with my own data stats now.

I haven't tested Chrome again thus far as right now I'm using..... whisper it..... 'Maxthon Cloud'. I intend giving that a 'trial' meantime.

As I stated previously my issue wasn't with meter stutters or loading problems. I was just rather concerned with those original high numbers I had when running Chrome. I've found I'm getting virtually the same results with Maxthon.

I'll keep an eye on the CPU usage 'on the tee' meantime as you suggest. Right now, as I'm posting, I have maxthon displaying the CPU usage and it's varying between 1% - 4%.

Thanks to all for their responses. Learned a few things I wasn't aware of - perhaps others have too.

Heh, asked a UK player in AS last night if they had the 4th of July in the UK. When he said no I had to ask if their calendar went from July 3 to July 5. LOL.

I woulda thought that the UK would celebrate the day they finally got rid of those obnoxious Pilgrims.  :-D

We cant put up a St Georges cross without fear of upsetting some minority sect, let alone celebrating anything to do with Great Britain.

Just some related info, hope this may help -

I've tried Chrome, IE, Mathon and C. Dragon.

Even though my G. Chrome passed the 'flash benchmark test' (as seen in the forum) with a rating of 'infinity' my Chrome meter is always choppy. I don't use it.

My CPU usage when running only WGT (on my Dell Vostro 1510 laptop w/ 2G ) when using

    1) Maxthon is between 7-50% (average of 24%)

    2) C. Dragon is between 40-55% (average 43%)

I like to use C. Dragon because when I stream using XSplit Broadcaster my CPU is 100% and C. Dragon seems to produce the most predictable meter results that are actually playable.

Then my next choice, if I was at 100%, would be Maxthon, then IE then Chrome.
