This is aimed at those who play in the 18 Hole Ready Go in heavy winds.

The 12th hole is giving me no end of problems whilst playing this particular ready go. The pin is at the front, 6 yards beyond the pot bunker @ 164 yards long.

When the game is being kind to you and you have a headwind, usually between 27-30mph, the hole isn't so much of a problem. I have been hitting a 5 iron (190yards),essentially you are taking 2 clubs more than normal. The intention being to land beyond the pin and letting the slope and gravity do its job for you. If successful all you have to deal with is an horrendous side hill putt with a lot of break.

More often than not however, you are given a tail wind, todays being 29mph. For the life of me I cannot get the clubbing right on this shot. I have frequently hit a full 7 iron (160yards) only to see the ball land short in the bunker. It makes no sense whatsoever. Surely to god with that kind of tail wind it should be making the green?

Anyone else experience the same difficulties? Better still, anyone else came up with the solution?

Avoid the bunker altogether.  When you have a strong tail such as you describe,  I would aim above the bunker or to the left of it.  Any ball hit in this area should trickle nicely towards the pin because the green is very steep and channeled .
