Courses with deep rough, brush

  Which courses have you found yourself in brush? deep rough, mulch?

  Which ones have very little? I'd like to get a wedge, or other, for long distance rescue.

  Congressional is the only course I've been on where deep rough is a distinct possibility.  For brush, maybe Merion or RSG when the winds are kickin' up.

  Don't forget Mad Mulch at KIA (one or two holes).

  STA contains some gorse (how is it called?) which might hold you up seriously.

  Nearly all of them.  That knar;ly green bush that lines the fairway just loves to eat balls

  No plural, "gorse" or ulex, en francais Ajonc. Quite pervasive on STA - like in the front of this painting.

  

  It's certainly golfer's most grim botanic enemy in Scotland, beating heathland and daisies. In mainland Europe, it's replaced by clover and dandelion.

  In WGTland, it comes into play on hole 4 (replay) - right hand side where the FW becomes narrow, some 230 yds from the front tees (single hole play) and hole 9 on the left, just before the green. But, it has no name - the ball simply disappears.

  Great explanation  Alosso (not like mine maybe i have too much  problem with english and i can't  find words) lol 

  I think wgt love the gorse, ulex, ajonc, this  thing steal and  keep the  ball like water lol

  Never been in it myself, but  I would say the worst spot in this game to be rough wise is that little quarry area before the 16th green at Merion..you will not finish the hole from there. Overall course wise I would say Merion and Congressional, or really any of the US Open courses.
