Hooray!!! Well done everyone for making it work.

(and sorry to Devon, who missed out. This particular match has been unbelievably complicated to set up, given the massive time differences involved, and the constrained schedules of what turned out to be 6 different players trying to make it happen)

Devon will be back for the singles for sure.

And so, we are off with week 2 the Foursomes series. Best of luck to everyone!

fairwayruepel and me are able to start the second game on Sunday evening between 10.30pm - 11pm our time (1.30am - 2am WGT time). We will both be online at that time and indicate our readiness to play with the green status light. Then we gladly await the invitation. We hope, that the match is scheduled now and we are looking forward to a great game.

First game of the foursomes and USA were on cracking form and they won the match, 2 & 1 .

It was a very friendly affair, with good banter,   but hats off for Russ and Moose the got they victory.. Both USA players holing clutch putts when it mattered.  Team ROW did muster on the 7th threatening to get back in, but USA soon saw that door closed.

A fine effort by both players,  proving the point  , putting for dough..

Thank you everyone BONALYAU, stevereilly, moosetaya, devonnnn and especially Corwyn for getting this match scheduled and played.

    10. both par with 2 putts from about 20ft away.

    11. both birdie with putts under 10ft.

    12. USA goes 1up with a bird

    13. both par

    14. both par

    15. both team missed green right. USA chips within 3ft for easy par, ROW just barely makes it on green and 2 putts for bogey. USA up 2

    16. wild hole! USA on green in 2, 28 ft away. ROW drives into bunker, then wedges out into rough, then hits a fabulous shot from the rough that rolled across the hole and just off the green left and long, then pitched in for par. USA 3 putts after ColumbusStorm hits an uphill lag putt well past the hole for bogey. USA up 1 , ROW is thinking they can take the match now.

    17. ROW hits green about 15 ft from pin and misses putt by an inch. USA (moosetaya) sticks his shot 6.3ft from the pin, leaving a very flat putt which goes in for bird. USA 2 up with 1 to play.

Thank you for allowing me to play in this round, and all the work that went into getting this match accomplished is very much appreciated.  I don't much play AS but it is fun.

    Go USA

    Corwyn:

    CerinoDevoti:
I'm good to go in Group B. :)

I assume the ROW Team Is still away on the tee and will be sending the invites? Also, I have no idea how the person who starts the game invites the players so they end up on the correct Team? (I know, if I played with other people I might have learned by now ;))

Was just wondering what's the procedure of invite order? I'm considering some practice games and want to know how to send the invites so the pard I prefer ends up my pard in the game?

    ~CD~

    Thanks for the confirmation, Cerino!

You must have added to your original post here... I almost missed your question (which is a good one for us all to understand!).

It will be the USA team who now have the honor for the second series of matches, as they are leading the competition. (I believe that's how it's done in the real Ryder Cup?; I'll be watching closely this weekend to see if that's true.)

And, the procedure for figuring out who tees off first within each team is explained in the FAQ (my emphasis below):

    How are the teams made?

The creator of the game invites 3 other people to play, then chooses a partner from one of those players to form Team Green. The remaining 2 players form Team Gold, and the representative for Team Gold gets to choose who will tee off first for their team. The creator of the game will always tee off first for Team Green.

What are the rules for Alternate Shot?

Whoever tees off first for the team will tee off on all of the odd numbered holes (1,3,5 etc.). Their partner will tee off on the even numbered holes (2,4,6 etc,).

In our case this will be holes 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 for the first player on each team, and 11, 13, 15, 17 for their partner.

Hope that makes it all clear!

    Thanks Corwyn.

Playing just the back 9 the odd hole player will be teeing off on both par 3's but hitting approaches to some really tough pins..  Makes for some interesting strategy thinking.

So if I get it all right the US Team member who is going to tee off on even holes is the one that needs to send the invites.

    That is correct CD.

And whoever creates the game and sends invites, will pick their partner who will tee off on 11,13,15,17 with 15 and 17 both being the par 3 holes.

Definitely some strategy to determine who prefers teeing off on the par 3 holes. I'm leaving this up to each individual team to determine.

Also the ROW team may want their players invited in a particular order. Please honor their request if they do request a specific invite order.
