First of all can we have sensible comments on this VEM issue without others hijacking the thread. with stupid nonsense.

Yes there is vem and wgt would be the first to admit that. it's part of the game. having said that it has got steadily worse over the past month at least.

The putting is way out as stated on previous comments, that invisible breaks appear when the ball is a foot from the hole. the ding is more miss than hit and at times is laughable. if you anticipate the ding you are heading for trouble it can go crazy.

Now I will admit putting is my failure. but when you are use to dropping the ball close to the hole and then get a sucker punch ( mysterious breaking of the ball at hole ) then that's when fury sets in.

So come on wgt for sanity's sake can you sort it out.

Now I think I have been very polite so don't lets have a slanging match.

    And no hijacking

    Regards

    Russ

Your distance to the pin is as horrible as your 1 putt, and that's saying something.

Not being rude, just can't be ignored.

You need to post some videos of these "occurrences", but reality is it will be just you who needs to get better, nothing to do with the game at all.  Videos might even lead to good tips.

So you miss by a lot often??.  Not being able to get close would lead to awful results, and only practice &/or slower balls &/or clubs can help.  Those L90 R11 irons are great, but good slower meter options exist.

You are barking up the wrong tree. Honestly stop blaming VEM, and seek more "earthly" solutions.

What exactly is your issue then? if as you say VEM is part of the game, then it's part of the game for everyone. Now if you were the only person experiencing it i could better understand your frustration.

Now i'm sure i get my fair share of WTF shots and there are certainly some putts that i think should have dropped but don't, mainly though i can pretty much workout why putts i've missed have missed, i either read them wrong or i didn't stop the meter where i wanted to.

At the end of the day i think everyone experiences some shot manipulation but the very top players ( not me ) make 90% of the longer putts. If WGT sort it out as you have requested then yes your scores will improve but so will everyone else's, therefore you won't be in much of a different place from where you are now and probably just as frustrated.

You guys should learn to READ PROPERY I am not critisising the VEM I am just saying it exists. I know it's the same for all and accept it.

You certainly have a mouth on you !!!!!!!!!

as I said putting is MY downfall.

    Get over yourselves.

So you were joking then, nothing for them to sort out.  Get closer a few more times before you criticise the game play IMO.

I can accept ignorance & bad manners.

you must be some fantastic player. how would WGT survive without players of you calibur

You just need to get your stats under some semblance of remote control then you might be able to tell..........

We are not talking about fine points that some very good players may or may not see.  I may not agree with what some think even on those BTW.

If anything at your current standard VEM would be helping you.

Concentrate on reality of what can help you.

    Well start here then:

Forget VEM unless it makes you feel better as that's the most it can do to you.

It would seem to me that you are criticizing it

Jimbog is correct here - I have decent stats, but am still not consistent enough to trust all of my shots - although dinged shots and putts going awry told me something was going on this last month.

But, as Jimbog says, when I think something is up, I go to a TL in our club that is a fanatic on stats and shot distances and ask him if he has noticed anything. And, he did confirm to me that something is going on now. But, I have not seen anything with short putts going off line - now some of the 10' - 12' putts I have.

The worst I saw the other day was a full back spin 7 yard chip shot on Oly from the fringe - dinged - going 3 yards - that was definitely a wtf moment. lol

Are you advocating some sort of cheating here? ( Sorry, couldn't resist as I see you playing bold on others quotes).

VEM does exist on the game (personally I like that it does) and that is his main point.

I would be interested in knowing how often it affects people, does it happen to the best TL's once a round but TP's once in a blue moon for example?  I'm not saying this in a "we should be told!" sort of way, just mildly curious.
