I concur PBaldwin. I have many..MANY hiccups and crack-pipe moments here that cost me strokes and many, many $2.50 balls. If I could have "mastered" this like I did Galaga back in the early 80's, I too would have left this game.
None of us...and I mean that with all seriousness, who play real golf, have consistent, epic rounds every time we play. I hope that I have 1-2 good holes with a couple of great shots. We drop our shoulder, don't shift our hips enough, tighten/loosen the grip, etc. So let's think of VEM as that. You hit the putt fat, you dropped your shoulder a touch. THAT'S why you left it short or shanked it. Now, if you want to "fix" those problems, I suggest you contact Peter Kostis and have him give you "analysis" with his Konica/Minolta Biz hub swing-meter.
I've looked at this history of some of this sites best players, and it takes them several rounds to hit that 54, 53 or 52. They have plenty of 58's with some 60's thrown in, so I bet VEM hits them; for those that say they are immune.
This place, for me, is an escape from reality. From the things in our life that can frustrate us. This place, like real Golf and most sports, are a "haven" A place where we can relax, enjoy our "friends", connect with a common bond and even commiserate.
Let's remember that people. I think it's forgotten more than remembered.
