    It is early here, and I haven't seen the news yet, but I wonder about this separation between England & Scotland. If it happens, how will it effect the British Open (The "Open" to some) ?

    Unfortunately it seems like it wont happen, and I don't think it would have any effect on The Open Championship if it did.

    Scotland may choose to leave the United Kingdom today. It will never separate from England.

    The engineering costs would be prohibitive not to mention the dire ecological consequences.

    Perhaps a moat could be a good start.

    Valid point Paul...so I read the newspaper, and AP reported it was too close to call; they had it at 49% in favor ~ 51% opposed ~ 5% undecided...I'm working on the math problem now ;-}

    Yes it's on a knife edge, quite an exciting day in these parts.

    Hopefully whatever they do won't screw up the Open Championship.

    I think a moat would be too expensive so maybe the great wall of Scotland would be the solution to keep those hords of Brits at bay, it worked for the Chinese.

    They should be able to take a good look at the incredible job that we do here in the states with the border walls, moats, fences, etc. that keep our southern border secure, just do the opposite of what our President thinks will work and you will be fine.

    If Scotland does leave the group, can they at least appoint  William Wallace as King for a day?   I know he's been dead for hundreds of years but find all the parts of him that they scattered to the four corners of Scotland, sew them back together and dress him up for a few pictures, he deserves at least that much...........maybe Mel Gibson can just sit in for him.

    Tar...thanks for the history lesson. I was not aware that the Great Wall of China was built to keep hords of Brits out :-) Had that been the case, I'm sure 90% of the countries in the world would have built one by now.

    I'm hearing that Pink Floyd will be hired to make The Wall and that Mel Gibson has been cast to play the role of Alex Salmond in Mini-Braveheart II

    I wonder if G.B will have to give up it's recent Wimbledon Title...especially as Andy Murray is in favour of the referendum.

    I wonder what potential name changes may result...  Decent Britain.... Kind of United Kingdom...Mini I-Pad Britain.....England and it's remaining friends....who knows.

    There were Hadrian's wall and the Antonine wall but neither really in the right place.

    No polls allowed untill voting ends but bookies have no at 1/5 and yes is 4/1 (1.20 and 5.00) as an indicator.
