My last comment, meant to be positive.

Charlemagne,  One of my happiest epiphanies in life was realizing that it was ok for people to be able to run faster, jump higher, throw harder, or simply master games of skill better than I was able to do.  Despite my best efforts, I was not the benchmark for excellent/perfection that I thought/hoped I was.  I hope when you arrive at that point, it will make your life that much more enjoyable as it did for me.

    GL 2 u.

Great theater men. And lady lmao. Charmane I believe you would argue whether the sky is blue on a sunny day. JB

If you guys want to make the disagreement friendly as opposed to calling for my banishment or junk like that, I appreciate that, but nonetheless, I have to say that I find y'all's claims hard to believe, to say the least.

I can't speak for the rest who play CTTH I play them for several reasons.

    1. Develop consistency in shot making.
    2. Understand the nuances of the balls and clubs you are using.
    3. Apply what you learn in CTTH and apply them to  RG's and Tournaments.
    4. I don't count how many grids left or right when I aim in a cross win but to look for reference points on a green.
    5. Repetition is getting understanding and overall view of how everything works.  It is just like that on a real golf course.

And I am not one of the better players on this site.  It is my style of play.  So shoot me.

    BolloxInBruges:
Icon has also driver-putted thousands of times, look at his choke-relief award.  His #'s are severely skewed.

Right, but whatever club he uses to get on the green and whether he's putting for eagle, birdie, or par, the DTP stat shows that he isn't facing putts that are not that much easier than the putts that I take.

All stats on WGT are near meaningless.  He played the bulk of his rounds in a different era,  starter club era, tour starter era, 245 yd driver era,  etc etc.  A higher % of your rounds are from legend tees era than his.   Not to mention that the % of time a person quits their round has almost as much bearing as their skill on the stats.  Without knowing that the stats mean very little and should not be used to compare players, especially w/ vastly different join dates.

It is the opinion of both myself and WGT staff that you guys are wrong.

You really need to separate what that individual allegedly did and what most are trying to tell you here.  As I said earlier a CTTH score of 30 is extraordinary, but not impossible for the really good players - that's been proven.

    AvatarLee:
Those are some pretty slow standards dude... remind me never to play with you in a group... you'd frustrate the hell out of me...

    7min max for full CTTH

20 min max 9 hole single player

40 min max 18 hole single player.

    Try those numbers.

Those numbers are pretty dead on for me and I'm certainly not one of the better players here.

CRH, you just need to except that some people can do things that you can't - I have...

I think criticizing other players in an open forum is a big no no.  Every player I know has there own specific style of play.  Also, note depending on skill and ability each player will progress and develop at his / her pace.  Some progress faster than others.

If one is discussing why players can shoot such low scores on CTTH is one thing, but discussing other idiosyncrasies about a players playing habits.  Such as using a driver on on a green.  Where is the relevance to shooting a low score on a CTTH.  There is none. I have played over 3500 ranked rounds, so perhaps I am a late bloomer who knows.  I play for my own enjoyment and satisfaction.

As I said before, I have always used CTTH to improve my style of play on WGT. So saying that, lets have fun, hit the courses and play well.  As well as provide constructive feedback to new players who read these forums, so they don't think we are a bunch of idiots.

    Oh. That's what he meant.

I thought he was talking about being able to drive par 4's or something... lol.

    yup.  still an idiot.

It would be nicer to say "clueless", if it's a nice way to say that.

Charle you use the word "impossible" way too much in reference to this game. And you underestimate what some players are capable of doing at every turn.

I've learned a long time ago nothing is impossible here, with the right player, the right conditions, and little luck, darn near pefection can be acheived. You just have not been here long enough to see that first hand.

    edit... lol Fuzzy

that would have been offensive to the clueless people out there ;)

the key to CTTH's is speed...how many rounds you can get in in a short period of time.  like Bollox said, i know right off the bat exactly what club each hole requires, what i need to change it to if the wind dictates, and where to aim based on the wind.  on the pinehurst challenge now, i know holes 1-4 i should be able to buzz through pretty quickly.  BUT, hole 5 can be tricky and you are really at the mercy of the wind to put it close (at least for me).  so if you can burn through the 1st 4 holes and get to 5 and put up a decent score, you're in good shape.  if 5 kills me, i restart and try again.
