I dont wanna play under the same flag like the bavarians anymore. So please give me the flag of my beloved homeland East Frisia: A black eagle on a black ground. And dont forget the players from Greenland. They are not all danish. They have their own identity and need their own flag too, that shows a white dove in the snow.

yeah sure sweetiePie,  I am quite sure all the African Americans playing this game  would love to see the confederate flag displayed.  Get real!!!!!  Has not been that long since African Americans could even play at a C.C.  Read a history book and grow up.

Well Rob, I thank you for the suggestion. Shall I re-read Zinn, B.T. Washington, Foucault, Tocqueville, Jefferson, Grant, Solomon Northrup or perhaps something else within my personal collection of a couple of thousand volumes ? Perhaps you could bless me with one in particular that would allow me to see something other than a flag of history, that did exist, in place of a "light" comment. ;-}     ~ SP ~

    Well said SweetiePie.

I think it's quite clear from SP's post that she was making a whimsical comment about a historic US flag in relation to the thread. It seems Rob that you're the one who needs to grow up and learn not to take offence where it's not due.

Let's try not to derail this thread with any further insults or personal attacks.

On topic - regardless of personal feelings/opinions towards the flag of your country, at least you have your country's flag represented here on WGT. Many of us still do not :(

Two of a kind.  I rest my case.

Oh!  By the way, two of a kind, means that I am sure the two of you are mensa members.  lol

One has read all the great books of the world.  The other likes to lecture people. Team up

and join the lecture circuit.   Just remember

Which for myself is difficult to grasp considering the ones being desired. I can remember when first joining wgt in initial sign-up the selection of a representative flag and seeing the amazing volume of choices, many I was not familier with, but not noticing the absence of the ones desired that would seem to be automatic.  ~ SP ~

What's difficult to grasp here WGT? This is what we want.

There is some debate about what the official flag for N. Ireland should be but that debate isn't for here.

We want the flags the real pro's use

    Here's a factoid for you.

The newest country in the whole world, South Sudan was formed in 2011, (which is 3 years after WGT was started and country flags first identified), has ONE member on WGT.

AND HE HAS HIS COUNTRY'S FLAG!  No doubt there's MILLIONS of UK flags but not a single England, Wales, Scotland or N. Ireland flag.

That is a travesty WGT and you should be ashamed.  You're an American company slighting our staunchest allies.

This issue has been around since at least 2010.  See this post.  More than 4 years ffs!!

But in typical WGT fashion they blame the problem on someone else.  From the above post, WGTNiv's response:

"Our country listing is provided by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization.  They require that residents of constituent countries in the U.K. represent themselves as members of the U.K. "

Screw that!  PRStevenson presented a fine alternative IMO.  Tie the flag to a member's appearance not their contact info.

    Its long overdue.

Pretty much re-enforces the futility of the request. I've seen other posts on this subject  roar like a fire then flame out and disappear. All good points and reasons have been given this time and the other times.

It's only a matter of time until the next one..
