I 've just played the wk 44 free multiround open. My second shot was just under 200 yds, wind 19@2. I left it just short of the green and it tipped the left side of the roadbunkerhill. Gave the shot a bad bounce and was directed towards the 18th tee. No problem I thought, still in 4 a par. But it gave OB....

When you see the map, at least a part of the 18th tee is on there. Also in real life, this shot shouldn't be OB.

WGT, can u please alter the programme 4 the OB area behind  the 17th green an add the full 18th tee as well as part of the course. It gives an extra dimension to approach the 17th from the left, but untill this thing is fixed it's 2 tricky and i have 2 choose the 'save' line from the right.

    Goody,

the problem lies with mapping area for each hole which is limited.  I had the very same shot yesterday with the same result.  Frustrating but from what I understand they can't do anything about it.

Same problem on STA14.  Playing from the back tees you can't go straight at the hole anymore in anything over a 15 headwind.  I played 2 shots in a row left that were still clearly on the map but declared OB.  Maddening but I understand.  Just wish they would let players rip a driver off the fairway so we don't have to encounter this unfortunate part of the game.

I have a bigger problem with KIA 17.  They changed the programming so if you get a meter spike and hit it in the water, you now get a drop in SAND instead of fairway or tee box.  Utterly ridiculous.  Why in the hell would a player elect to drop in sand while having to carry 180 yds of water when they can go back as far as they want or re-tee to achieve a decent lie?!?

I went into the water on KIA 17 about a week ago, and I got a fairway lie.  It's probably based upon where exactly you first crossed the water... or been fixed.

    Jake,

I'm not familiar with mapping but think you're right. Remember now that WGTniv wrote someting about it in another thread. This thread also describes the OB area at SA 14. FYI, see andyson's post at: http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/12459.aspx?PageIndex=2

Hopefully they will be able 2 map a greater area in the near future. Because I think the approach from the left at SA #17 is 1 of the most challenging in the game and I would love 2 play it more often.

KI #17 the same thing happened 2 me a couple of weeks ago, also a drop in the sand. What you're saying; utterly ridiculous. Think Charle is right 2 about where crossing the water. Makes sense though 2 introduce a dropping possibility in the next update.

These are all mapping issues and I'm not sure how WGT addresses these but a few of them are big issues.  In my view the St Andrews problems at #17 and the even bigger problem on hole # 14, the par five on the back.  If you are playing that hole into the wind and have to lay up into the left fairway area, a good shot can easily end up off the mapping area and OB.  Since you are hitting a 3 wood it doesn't take much to be off the map.
