Don't know if this guy got the putter or not.......  all I know is he contributed the most points to the overall comp.    Agreed... he did nothing wrong at all, he played within' the rules of the contest....  and played..........hefty.

It took a lotta balls to do that, no pun intended.  I wonder how much he spent on sleeves compared to what the putter is worth?

and everything to do with corporate greed of the worst kind
that corrupted this great game beyond recognition :-((

Agreed Lucky. Easy money leads to greed, and as long members keep feeding WGT's little? money spinners, they'll hold out the greasy palm.  Another nail in the coffin of this game that is putting people off it.

One answer to this crap is to ask your club members to not play in the CC clashes.  I did and they are not.

    Doc58:

You know that feeling you get when someone is standing behind you or staring at you. Well, I went to tee off this morning and as I was addressing the ball I got that feeling. Then I looked around and there they were. GNNOOMMEES!!!!  I tried to ignore them and concentrate on my shot, but they started badgering me with insults and nasty comments! One even made a sexually explicit remark about my mother! When I told him to shut the tiny_mce_markeramp;^% up, the little monster ran over and bit me on the leg! Next thing you know they were both on me. Biting, punching, cursing and poking their stubby little fingers in my eyes. I finally managed to knock the ball down the fairway far enough to get away from them. I felt lucky to get away with my life!

I'm glad that's over, I thought to myself. But to my horror it wasn't! I had to endure this assault 8 more FRIGGING TIMES!!!!  When I got home I found that I have just enough room in my golf bag to put my Smith and Wesson 44 magnum pistol. I will be on the course again bright and early in the morning. Go ahead Gnome.......MAKE MY DAY!!!!!

    Good one my friend....    :-))))))))

I guess you'll get used to them after a few rounds or maybe never... ! ! !

That's not my decision.......  that's something left to the Owner and Directors.   I, being just a veteran member, don't get involved in those type decisions. I do, however, voice my opinion to our Owner (a good friend) on occasion.  I played "one" round with the daily free pass...  and that's all I care to contribute until changes are made that make the tournament  more skill based, round limitations are implemented and the elimination of the "Golden Shower".....errrr.... "Golden Putter".    I would expect even lower participation in the next event.... simply because folks will / are losing interest in spending and chasing a whimsical  magic putter with no guarantee they will even be awarded in the end.  It's  unfair to the Owners who must make a "no win" decision regarding the award.......  and really unfair to participants ( particularly the ones in smaller CC's) that really have no chance of winning......

When you think about it, the "Clash" could be a good thing providing the point system is changed to reflect "skilled rounds" (points awarded for birdies or better and points deducted for bogey's or worse), round's are limited to 5 per person, and the putter is replaced with balls.  FFS.... 400,000 credits is equivalent to  almost 900 sleeves of Nike 71's............  I'm sure the member/ player consensus would much rather see 900 sleeves distributed among the entire CC community rather than chase their tails on a putter pursuit....        Just my thoughts.....

looking at scores he probably was using the starter balls!

Where can we see the results of this competition - as prizes were being given to the top 1000 CCs - surely this list should be available somewhere?

well now it's confirmed - he did.

so here's a quick tutorial on how to get the gold max putter:

    1. Join ANCC

    2. Purchase 50-100 CC passes

    3. use them all aimlessly at clash rounds,
(your scores are of course irrelevant haha).

    4. check to see you earned bought the most amount of points,
    - if not repeat process.

    5. wait.

No-a member of our club actually bought the Gold Putter 400,000 credits-you cannot sell it. Once you have it--you own it for life. Plus-someone earlier posted this would give a player a real advantage?

According to one who has played it, not worth crap for use in play.

This has to be the funniest fukin' sh*t I've read here yet, probably ever will. What the hell would possess anyone to purchase that thing?

So this person gets to log in, pull up their client window and look in their inventory and see that thing just staring back, mockingly giving them the finger because - "You're stuck with my fuzzy golden ass sport!" ? That's just too funny... I mean I guess you've got millions in credits doing nothing and have every club, bag n avatar around what they hell else you gonna do with them? Still.... It's the fact that you're stuck with it, that you just got slammed in the ass by WGT as they make you keep it, and they get their credits back.

They should seriously offer up this company as a module at Wharton's School of Business. I used to work as a broker on the 'bad' side of the street - Nothing we ever did compares to the sh*t WGT throws at it's customers.

Oh ya, before I forget ..... [...i.,] Congrats on your second 'buyout' LMFAO!!!!
