Achieving legend and tour legend is very difficult without spending some money on equipment. I think if you unlocked courses as a reward for advancing, it would encourage players to spend money on the equipment. Having to pay for each play on those courses is a bad idea. If people are not buying equipment, than they are not going to pay to play on those courses either. Now if they knew they could expand the game by advancing in rank I think more of them would spend more money in the pro shop. It also makes those higher ranks mean a whole lot more.

No thanks and there aren't enough full strokeplay courses for this to work.

I have encountered several players above level 90 who are still tour pro. They are that level not because they are poor players. The reason is because they do not buy any equipment. There is no incentive for them to do so. If they do somehow play well enough to advance without buying equipment, it just moves the tee back and they play worse than thy already do. Obviously just being able to hit the ball further and straighter is not enough incentive for them to spend money in the pro shop. The cost of buying clubs is equivalent to the purchase of a brand new game, and what you get for your purchase is the same game that you can play just a little bit better. I can see why people do not spend more than they do. Now if more courses became available as you progress, than that would increase the value of pro shop purchases and encourage players to make a purchase. More money spent in the pro shop would encourage the developers to add more full stoke play courses. Make the carrot at the end of the stick larger and the donkey will move a lot faster.

This basically defeats the purpose WGT had when they started this-free browser golf you can play anywhere. A level 90 Pro is not going to do much better with good equipment because they obviously don't care or don't know how to manage a course. You don't buy strokes with new equipment, you have to know how to use it.

If this is happening to other people, why do you care? You can do what you want.

Alright well you guys have thousands of posts on this forum. I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who is not a forum snob. I think it would improve the game. As a person who has played dozens of free to play games, all of which have different approaches, I see flaws with this approach and am offering a solution.

I am not interested in the forum locals who only seek to bash posts all day.

I think all the course,s should be open . That way I could see more of what is there to challenge me and want better clubs .  If I had to play just one course over and over to a point just to open another I would burn out and give up .

Well this game is both pay to win and pay for content. It is bad all the way around. The only reason they can get away with it is because there are not many other online golf games out there, but that is no excuse. they could make more money with a more player friendly system. You don't have to look very far to see better examples.

I only say this because i think the game could be better. I like it now, but it could be better.

We like to hear that, NOT.

Are you a player or a consultant? It sounds like the latter!

I'm fond of the option to play as you want it, no limitations in courses like other online games did or do. The concept is quite clear, free access to (mostly) all courses, playing capabilities in proportion to credits spent.

If WGT were to change this and build in other limitations, the call for greedy grabbing would be louder IMHO.

I would have hated the idea on my way through.
