For me, I'd just simply have a system in place that is fair AND stops quitting,

But you'll never stop quitting unless this guy is put in charge.....

The OP mentioned that [said] quitter started another round right after quitting the round with him. And like X said, 99% of disconnects are from a player hitting a poor shot, anyone is only fooling their-self if they believe otherwise. That's right, the disconnect rate at no fault to a player is 1%.

The only simple solution to the quitting issue is to do away with multi-player altogether. I mean, if it's OK for one player to leave another player(s) hanging in multi-player, and nothing is done to the quitter, then no one deserves to play multi-player at all. It's the only fair thing to do for both parties involved. I say put multi-player on the back-burner until a fair, and viable solution is put in place. Heh, you never know, maybe these quitting threads will cease too.

This whole quitting issue really puts a black eye on WGT and a stain on this game. It's a spectacle that cheapens the game. The longer it goes on, the more people on the outside looking-in will see that WGT has no clue on how to solve the quitting issue that's plaguing their game.

Richard calm down a little. Do away with multiplayer? But isn't that what makes this game what it is. If quitters want to cherrypick their rounds they are the ones who should be forced to play on their own. If a person goes over a certain % - then kick him out or do whatever. No mp = no chatting to nice people, no player organised tourneys = no fun. If there is no MP , many people will be forced to find something else to do until the weather is right to pick up a real golf bag and throw it in their cars.

Yeah, perhaps Mo. I don't play multi-player for the simple fact it isn't worth the aggravation. If I want a conversation with someone, I'll come to the forums. :) Chatting interferes with playing the game for me too.

You have to admit though, quitting does stain the game and is a nuisance. Besides, WGT isn't going to drop multi-player for the reasons you mention and MPC. There's to much dough involved. And WGT doesn't seem to be to bothered with members quitting either.   : )

I would certainly go along with stats for "abandoned" games being made available. This works well on Yahoo games [Hearts card game], if you see a player join your table who has a high percentage of abandonments, you play against them at your own peril ! good post.

I "quit" a blitz I was leading because my Internet Explorer went into (not responding) mode.  It happens all to often, even when I am surfing the internet.  Any ideas what causes this and a fix?

Hey Ripped, here's a article from ehow that addresses the Internet explorer issue you mentioned. You should consider using a different browser to play this game like FireFox, or Google chrome. These browsers play the game very efficiently. I like FireFox for all the options it offers. You can get the latest version of FireFox here and Google chrome here.

    andthewinneris:

Is there any WGT can do to stop people from disconnecting from Blitz after they have played a crap shot,

I have played with this one guy twice(his name is ********),and as soon as he play’s a bad shot he is off  and quite happily starts a new game

Sometimes a "crap shot" needn't even be taken.  That's what REALLY is disturbing.  :/

(these are just two of the dozen or so disc's from the last week)

Before a shot is even taken... (why? IDK.)

Orrrr... after a good start from another player...

... after three "thumpers" and a flagstick hit = the worst kind of quitters in my book.  :/

Happens all the time during "Random Pick-up games". Sadly, we just have to take it in stride.

It WOULD be nice, if somehow, the Blitz game could allow the lone player to finish-out his/her round... just to see what "could have been"...
