I am not defending quitters [ I've met my share ! ], and, yes it is obvious when someone 'disappears' after a couple of bad shots or a bad hole. What I AM saying [ if you read the post ], is that anyone can lose connection [ bad server, power outage

you see wee john, you are defending them. You say anyone can lose a connection, but wee john, that is not the problem 99% of the time. The problem is they quit because that is the way momma brought them up. If at first you don't succeed, just go back to your room and watch the flintstones. We understand something can happen to lose connection, but we cannot keep using that as excuse, especially when someone takes a triple bogey and quits. Seems very obvious. I have to laugh. i play beth a lot, and the first hole is the grave yard for quitters. Tee off into the trees, and away they go

    BriRock:
I'm so sick of people using this idea as a defense / excuse to validate quitting...why can't people comprehend the fact that server/internet/computer failures or real life stuff accounts for such a miniscule amount of “quits” or disconnects…and also because everyone experiences them, there is no harm done to one individual player’s quitting percentage…If a player has that many legit “quits / system failures” then he/she cannot possibly enjoy any sort of online gaming as they disconnect so frequently…

I could live with that if WGT chose not to issue "pardons" by allowing a quitter to complete their round and not take a small reputation hit.  I agree the server/internet/computer/real life stuff has been grossly overplayed.

    BriRock:
Anyone who defends the fact that you (WGT) cannot determine how or why someone quits, stands to have something to lose if and when the Reputation System is put into place…because there is no downside to such a system…Why would anyone not want something in place which is designed to better their experience and ability to complete more MP rounds?? The ones who defend quitting, or are against such as system, are either repeat quitters, or enjoy being quit on, either one is wrong.

I would add to that list: The ones who defend quitting or are against such a system are either...

    repeat quitters or

    enjoy being quit on or

are sorry they didn't think of it first or

are just plain disagreeable with anything said by certain members and

    are stubborn.

Simple, put in a system next time they quit they get the option to finish the round, if they forfiet they are scored worse than if they bogeyed every hole, without any kind of punishment wether its your fault or not it will continue, any other game I have played if you quit or get disconnected for some reason it effects your score, EA sports football for an example

For me, I'd just simply have a system in place that is fair AND stops quitting,

Andy is always right. I don't care what they do but this issue has to be resolved. Three mp rounds today - i was deserted by the last hole on every occasion and I wasn't even below par half of the time. I am aware that people can come across problems (I have had my fair share). But they would happen to everyone and people who complete rounds would have about 85% round completion. Quitters would have about 10%. Easy to tell the difference.

    moemuther:

I will not play with more than one Master or better player at a time because they seen to be the worst.   They would not have ever reached their levels if they posted their bad games.  I do like to play them though because I post all my scores; therefore, like a "sandbagger" I can beat most of them.  I wish everyone would just finish their games and post their scores.

Believe it or not - I play with M upwards because TP is the quitters/sandbaggers tier. I am aware that there are a very large no. of exceptions but TPs are the ones who would like to protect a low avg to make master. Ms and above usually don't care. I for one cannot/would not like to progress any further with my current gear and would not mind if my avg shot up to 80 (which is not possible now anyway).
