WGT you really need need to fix the 'fringe' on this game.

A putt with 8 feet of power will not travel 2 inches on any fringe in the real world as it frequently does on this game.

More annoying for me though is a 7 yard chip on this game will not bounce on the fringe about 3 yards then suddenly stop, a fringe will not give anywhere near the resistance to do this.

You need to address this problem that has been reported on here many many times rather than spending on the completely unwanted sports drinks and the like.

Simmo for whats it worth. I use the flop shot from the fringe everytime. But thats just me. I don't trust the chip shot or to putt from the fringe.

Not quite sure what you were conveying with the putt example. But as far as the chipping reactions with this game (not in RLG),  have you read "iconians" tips on chip and pitch shots in relation to this game? They are excellent and a must read to improve your chipping & pitch shots. You will have to research the archive posts to find them. Sorry I couldn't link you to that post now.

Maybe WGTicon will pick this up and direct you to that post.

There are some problems with fringe putting especially on some holes but on most its okay - you just hit a couple more feet.

That is propably the worst problem around - the fringes act like glue sometimes. If you are in the rough beyond the fringe you should flop. If you are actually on the fringe you can chip/

Simmo, try changing your putting scale to 15, or 30 on your Rossi putter. This will putt the ball out of the fringe without any hang-ups. Better yet, don't change the putting scale value the caddy offers on a fringe putt. It may take a few putts to get used to the higher values on the putting scale.

This will solve your fringe putting woes.  : )

One big problem for us is the ball that appears to be on the fringe but is actually in the rough. So before you try anything off the fringe check and make sure you are actually on the fringe and not in the rough. Doing that alone will solve many headaches. There are some mapping issues where your ball appears to be on the green but is actually on the fringe and balls that appear to be on the fringe but are in the rough.

thanx but no thanx, Richard. Just "tried" putting 9in on the fringe @ Kia #15, 6 ft putt dn hill using 30 scale w/8ft power Whamo ball traveled 2in, yes all of TWO inches. I've putted off greens occasionally usually @ STA. but I would rather rely on my flop shot.

Putting from the fringe other than STA is a "crap shoot" with WGT golf. IMO

With all due respect David, your numbers seem odd. The 9 inches on the fringe I can see, but 6 foot putt down hill? The flag-stick is more then 2 yards from the fringe on that hole. If you meant 6 yards, I would've used a value of 60 with 40% power. The caddy would have probably given a 60 value too.

Sting brings up a very good point. Sometimes the ball shows it lies on the fringe, but in all actuality, it's in the rough, or the other way around. Also, we can't forget the VEM factor, or shot randomness.

Changing the putting scale to a higher value works for me every-time, even sometimes using the caddies suggestion. I have to say I've only whiffed a few fringe putts and it was early-on in 2010. I also have a good example of a fringe putt saved on my profile too.

I wouldn't give-up on it David. Maybe try some practice fringe putts to get a feel for the higher putting value.

I'm pretty sure the hole was 6ft. If it was 6yds I diffidently would not have putted. The lie was on the fringe not rough.

I could be mistaken about the actual "footage".  Thought it was quite coincidental, just finished that round and right after I was reading your comments.

Don't take my feedback or experiences as a knock on your comments. I'm just saying fringe putting doesn't work for me. Or I should say I'm more confident w/other shot selections.

As far as using the 60 with 40% I'm not using a "WGT Caddie", so I would have to guess on the 40%. My "60" @ 1st click is 12ft, anything less then 11ft I drop down.

Been struggling with the putter lately, so that 2in. fiasco didn't help. lol
