Unfortunate ending to a good tour. IMO WGT endorses tools that 'assist" players a lot, If you really want to have a pure game, just use your mouse, head and feel and deal with randomness that golf throws at us.
WGT allows certain tools, in fact they endorse and sell them. Sure cheat engine isn't one that would be accepted but unless you have horrible eye sight, or pathetic hand eye corrdiantion you are going to either ding or barely miss the ding on every shot. Consider you could miss the ding with a driver 14 times in a round, badly I might add and still hit the fairway, all of the wedge shots the same deal you can miss the ding and they will still go to 1 yard, as well as putts where the meter goes very slow. Add to that now many top players are using Nike irons, so even the approaches you can miss and still get a good result. You could within reason assuming the winds are low or moderate, not hit the ding once and still shoot a very low score. And in contrast hit the ding every time and shoot a poor score.
People who shoot top scores know the game. when they have a shot for the most part they know exactly what club to hit, how hard, and the amount of spin. When WGT is allowing rulers and shot pal and putter pal to basically put a perfect shot on a platter what you will see is lots of low scores. Knowing exactly where 94% is on your meter and having a ruler to aim out exactly where you need to aim is as valuable if not more so then the idea of either dinging or a slight miss of the ding.
At the end of the day the game is an easy game when you get familiar with it, the only thing that will trip up top players is the game itself being tricky (deceiving yardages and breaks on the green) awkward yardage and wind combinations, or just a lack of focus and hitting dumb shots. The game has become for some players so mechanical that a good shot has already been hit before the club touches the ball.
As far as Javier's 51, it's easy to play the result and say wow look at that. Mind you in those conditions, 51 is surely within reason, in fact if that was a RG I think many of us would have that round on occasion, it's called a WD :-)
