A huge question of ethics and fair play is raised here:  What about the player who should have qualified as one of the finalists if not for the spot taken by the user of the CE, not to mention the credits won by that user?

Does anyone at WGT have a suitable reply to this question?

Hmm i maybe completely wrong in my thinking here, but Javier shows a cheat engine on his desktop.Suddenly starts gifting drivers thinking my a%% is grass lol.

But today after being pointed in that direction i did a player search on BigNick092785 and his name doesn't come up in the search. Why is this? does anyone have any clue to this?

    sarak362336:
I was under the impression that the rounds had to be streamed 'live' (See OP on this thread) - two were, 1 was recorded and the other just a score posted.

Surely if the rules stated that the round had to be played live - it should be - would be nice to hear from WGT on this whole fiasco.

Well done to the 2 who did adhere to the original conditions set for the final and I feel that they have been short changed here with regards to the prize moneys being paid.

Actually the Rules for the event (which are linked from the Leaderboard page)  only say the following (twice):

"In order to be eligible to earn credits, the entire final round must be streamed and saved by players using Twitch

So, while I'm not trying to defend javiertorg at all (in fact, I hope he will make a contribution here to offer an explanation for the Cheat Engine icon on his desktop), his entry does seem to be within the rules.

If I understand Twitch properly, if you stream you are doing it live automatically. Where the community is justifiably disappointed is that the expectation was created by WGT staff (in the OP in this thread and elsewhere) that notice would be given and that we'd all have a chance to watch it live. But it does not seem from the rules that this was a requirement.

I asked earlier in this thread whether Icon or others at WGT could help mitigate the 'witch-hunt' by sharing their communication with the last 2 contestants as to whether notice of planned playing time was given or not, or even whether or not BigNick was able to get Twitch to work viably for him. It does not seem that that will happen. But both players' silence in the forums is strange given how much they must be aware of the interest and questions from the community.

I watched javiertorg's recording last night, and was struck by some other oddities:

    1. Why would a top player using a streaming process that has to exert some negative influence on his computer, still have Flag Animations turned on?

    2. Does a player at that level really still use the WGT Beginner Putter for all rounds? Seems to me that would be a huge handicap, no?

By the way, I agree with Zag's point earlier about privacy concerns. If broadcasting rounds 'live' on Twitch becomes seen as a standard for authenticity (which seems unfair on all of those with insufficient computer set-ups or connection speeds) then those participating should be reminded of how conscious they need to be to avoid displaying personal information: for instance, hiding one's real name and personal email requires some care!

Edit: Russell, just saw your post: very interesting news!

Russ, I clicked on his name in one of the "tourney results" and his profile appeared.   Score history shows his final round in the VT Championship and nothing since then.  And you're right...search now under WGT Players and nothing comes up.

Meanwhile, Javiertorg continues to tear up the Ready Go circuit... playing in 12 of them since the VT final....

Sorry to say I have lost all respect for those that run this site.  Setting the rules, saying they're policing and dealing with cheats, and then to totally ignore both, is totally baffling to me.

    Unbelievable....

You do know what piojosos means in Spanish I hope

    1 lousy covered in lice

    2 flea bitten and filthy

    3 scuzzbal (usa)

    1 (con piojos) lousy
    2 (sucio) filthy
    3 (mezquino) mean
    Says it All

It may be out of malice or ignorance, sad to belong to a country that contributes so much to world culture, from Shakespeare to the Beatles or the Rolling, I personally like more the latter. The name of our CC and its logo is a tribute to one of the best rock bands in Latin America: Los Piojos. For you was easier to translate and use disparagingly, rather than investigate. In our CC there are players from many parts of the world, everyone is treated with the same respect, English, North American, Asian, European, and Latin American course. We are proud of our friends at WGT accompanying us a little more than two years ago. Because they deserve respect answer is that this aggressive post and invite him to listen to Los Piojos, make great music.

Naw...from those who watched, the player didn't use it, or have it turned on...certainly that player deserves his credits...don't ya think?

    Turning blue yet?

Face it Bro, this game is getting away from being fun.

There was a time you could could play, and keep your self in credits...seems those days are past...least for me...maybe WGT doesn't care about those who have been here for a long time, figure the old crew will abandon ship, and new ones will over run the place and make them more money?

FWIW...that's about as a critical post/reply I have ever made in regards to WGT in the 4 years I have been here, I sure hope I'm wrong and they (WGT) step up and get something that can detect this stuff.

Posted in my CC forum...not one to make goodbyes, etc...but how I feel...hey...look at my post count, think I didn't used to have passion for this game?

This chit is just wrong...FFS...just wrong, WGT needs to get some SW in here to seek this crap out...

You know, I just loaded my real clubs today to have some fun on the SA short tee tourney...the clubs will be loaded...but I'm definitely out of here for awhile.

What's really flucked up is anyone who has ever played golf in the real world for just a tad of time, never even wonders why they don't have erasers on the free score card pencils...yuo score what you score..

Issue here is with the "cheat" crap..they are all gamers...probably doing the same thing to internet ping pong...fu ck them all.

I don't have much ambition to stick around, and I sure as heck am not going to do surveys, vids, etc, just for ball money to play...when me credits run out, so do I.

Even if the guy didn't use the cheat engine for his final round, it's right there on his desktop and it would be fair to conclude that he very well may have used it to get to the final round.  That means that players who played fair were robbed of credits in two ways...prize money they missed out on and credits they spent for ball usage.

And yet still no response from WGT, no indication that they even care.  As mentioned above, known cheaters are still cleaning up in RG's and other tourneys.

I'm lucky enough to live in a place where I can get plenty of credits from surveys and vids, but people who aren't so lucky are spending real money here only to be robbed because this company refuses to rectify the situation and so far, doesn't even have the decency to so much as comment on it.

Instead we get the idiotic cc vs. cc clashes and doggie tee markers.  Welome to WGT, where the fleecing never ends.

Sounds like a nice person, seems being back in his spiritual home hasn't mellowed him.
