No reason for me to post my sorry excuse for a first round :)

Wish I coulda had the 17-par effort I had a few days ago...played ping-pong on #8 (AGAIN!), ran up a quad >_< Played that hole 4 times now and gone par/double/triple/quad...amazing for a 102y par-3. Bogeyed 10, then parred the balance for +5. Not a calamity, outside the one train-wreck.

(T-last of 8 so far, as I'm checking...I'd rather take my position in the weekly 100CR multi at Best of Hardest, where I shot 29 on the front after not playing more than 1 hole in each of the last two days ^_^)

Not much reason to post my scorecard, but I'll get the ball rolling (haha).  Had 2 bogeys and 3 birdies. And the first bogey was a "brain fart"  3 footer that I forgot I wasn't using my regular putter on and smashed 5 feet past the hole.

I did have one bit of excitement on the 142yd 11th hole.

Anyway here's my scorecard (I didn't even bother with the stats page)

That was FUN, well until the back 9, -1 at the turn and then the wheels fell off.  6 bogies on the back.  Red is not good when you miss a green, btw.  Thanks for putting this one together.

Interesting Tourney - just when I though I was cruising along under par and being save an approach shot landed a few yards short of a pin and hit a down slope - it was a 30 yard bounce ending up in a double dark red lie - looking very much forward to next week.

    Cody,

You should have saved the card and stats anyway. It's going to be pretty hard for everyone so what you think may not be a good score could end up better than you think in the final result.

    Oh dear.

I struggle just to shoot even par from the Master tees with RocketBladez and starter ball.  I can't even imagine how bad its going to be with the starter irons.

And I did get in a few practice holes today......all I can say is, I'm really missing the 15 foot scale on the Odessy LoL.

Yes very tough, any birdie seems like a miracle.

That's the Spirit of the "Tough It Out Tournaments".  Par is a good score on any hole and a birdie is like the Special reward for playing. Get some practice in to get used to the sticks and have a go. Course management is key so in many cases I just hit to the center of the greens and take my 2 putts for par avoiding having to get up and down. If I'm inside of 10 feet to the pins, I've usually made a mistake or missed the ding. I count exactly 2 holes that are true "green light" go for the pin holes. The rest I just take what I can get and hope for a longer putt to drop.

OK, I went out there with no practice rounds, last time I used those sticks was for the last TIO edition. Cerino said it's too easy, I wanted to make it tougher then. Guess what? I got it...TOUGHER!

From the tees, I went all over the place but on the greens. I think I'm at 50% GIR. Starting with the 1st hole, meter speed surprised me so much that I hit it early...almost yesterday!. Result: Triple bogey. Then I asked myself if "smart" and "practice" are not close words!

I think I shot +5 overall, had a lot of fun though and few great putts, actually easier from 20+ ft than close with the 30 scale.

Good luck and have fun all. See you next week for my 2nd practice round ;)

    Fred.

Couple of replay of my mess...those are good shots.

Pretty much what i tried to do. Still made 2 bogeys to go w/ 4 birds in my round. No putts of any significance made either for me.  If i get same winds in the 2nd round from longer tees and faster greens i seriously doubt if i could break par.
