    KyRock75:

Pretty much what i tried to do. Still made 2 bogeys to go w/ 4 birds in my round. No putts of any significance made either for me.  If i get same winds in the 2nd round from longer tees and faster greens i seriously doubt if i could break par.

    Rock

Lying SOB...with Icon on speed dial and the SW loaded up...how can ya miss?

    Eff you Mike!

Thanks for setting up this tourrney. Was great fun to play, though I wish another putter could have been used.

Solid 53 from me with 3 bogeys and 4 birds. Had a few short ones that i missed but who cares, it was great fun to play :)

Had a pop at it - 3 bogeys and a sneaky bird on the last for a round of 56.

Two mishaps on the front 9 were more to do with me forgetting that the default scale for the starter putter is 30ft and not 15ft... :(

#16 I thought I'd be smart and try and clear the bunker to the right and front of the pin. Wind was blowing directly over the bunker.... I should have just aimed  for centre of green and safety. Thought the round was over when the UL 'box' flashed red/orange clour.

    Enjoyed the challenge.

Nah. I knew +5 with only 11 greens hit wasn't going to be anywhere near worth anything, especially with the caliber of players who were likely gonna be here. Also, the only birdie I could scrounge was a 12' putt on the 6th. I'm 21st at the moment, only ahead of 2 scores.

Now, if I put together +1 or +2 NEXT round, then I'll likely post it! :)

FWIW, I'd love to see what our scoring average is on the 8th, as a group. Gotta be almost level-bogey, if I had to guess.

Well, I gave the old starters a try after having been away from the game for a while and it was quite interesting. The putter did not cooperate which led to too many bogeys and even a double!

Things were going great until I was a little long on #8. I proceeded to putt it off the green into an ugly stance... Flopped over the green and flopped it back, luckily the 7 footer for double went in. Had a rude lip out on #13 from like 2ft thanks to the stupid starter putter lol! Overall, for my rusty game, I'll take it. Thanks to Corwyn and CD for coordinating some great UEL tourneys.

How I ever played with those clubs for 4 months beggars belief !  :-))

Made a change from the norm..nice comp you guys..FUN

( only downside is the 15 increments if used to nike putter, knocked a 2ft'er 7 ft by, hitting it toooo hard, slammed back of the hole and skipped to the fringe. lol )

If Andy^ made 6 birdies with clubs he never uses, I know this first round set-up is too easy. ;)  Great playing Andy and good to see you got the screenshots.

9 players are under par as of this post and 17 players within 4 strokes of the lead. Some really good play by a lot of folks. I thank everyone for supporting this tourney and hope you all remember there's a second round next week. Be sure to check out the conditions and perhaps play a couple of practice holes. It's going to be painful. ;)

Was a good round for me (57) though not close to the sub-35 you're looking for.  (And why oh why does my profile say I shot a 55?)

12.23.14     Best of Bandon Par 3        Full 18       Legend      55

Those 3 bogeys on the F9 were before I realized the lowest putt meter was 30, not 15, and those were my first sub-30 putts (except tap-ins after missing long ones).  Way to ruin those 3 GIR's !!  :(

I count 7 pars made after missing the green for 100% scrambling.

I submit the following for a great sand save.  Was a flashing red lie both uphill and sideways.   Though it was only 16 yards away (I think), I took out the 70-yard wedge and voila!   Made the par putt afterward (Hole 15).

Have fun e1 if you haven't played yet.

Is there a prize for most 3-putts while still finishing under par? I had three of 'em.

Took a few holes to get the hang of the yardages. I did hole a nice par save on 1, so the struggles didn't end up hurting much except failing to make birdie on two of the easier holes on the course.

After a silly 3-putt on 4 (missing the ding badly on the first putt and leaving a 5-foot putt with a hard break), my first really bad mistake was this putt on 7 that almost went off the green. I bounced back on the next hole with a near hole-in-one and converted the birdie putt, following with another nice tee shot on 9 (didn't save the replay) to 7 feet for another to get back to level.

But I hooked my hybrid on 10 and badly miscalculated the chip shot. Pro tip: starter clubs don't get spin on pitches. My 80% pitch of a 14-yard club with full backspin from a level lie rolled out to 13 yards when I needed 9. Another bogey.

...and another bounce-back, with this beauty that rolled up to 5 feet on the 11th to get back to par again.

By this time I was feeling a bit fatigued due to playing in late evening, and I missed a simple tap-in par on 13 and a nearly straight 6-footer for birdie on 14 because I was well late on the ding both times.

15 was a routine par (honestly don't even remember the hole's layout), then hit a 3-wood that covered the pin on 16 and one that took the slope on 17. Both left 12-footers for birdie which I managed to convert. Then I played safely to the back center on 18 and two-putted to finish at -1.
