So Electra 'C' either win and get promoted or lose and get relegated. That's going to make this final even more interesting than normal!!

That kind of implies to me there is something wrong with the format.....

    slor:
    • If (7) OLC "A" and (8) RnRR "A" both lose the relegation semifinals, (6) O Canada will go down with them unless they manage to win the Division 1 tournament - if that happens, (5) NWC "A" would go down. The relegation final would be redundant: the participants should let me know if they want to play it or not
    • If either/both (3) English Lakes "A" or (4) UKGE "A" lose and then lose the relegation final, they go down with OLC and RnRR
    • If one of (3) English Lakes "A" or (4) UKGE "A" lose and then win the relegation final against either (7) OLC or (8) RnRR, we're back to the first scenario: (6) O Canada will go down unless they manage to win the Division 1 tournament - if that happens, (5) NWC "A" would go down

So even though we won our QF match, and are not part of the relegation side of the tournament bracket, we are still bound to be relegated unless we pull off the miracle three times in a row???

Doesn't it stand to reason that the team relegated through the tournament should come from the relegation side of the bracket?

Your tournament and your rules slor, and all the respect in the world for running this show, but to me our upset of English Lakes meant we were safe from relegation, since we weren't on that side of the bracket. Now I have to tell my guys that the only way to stay in Division 1 is to pull off three consecutive upsets, or hope for upsets from the 7 & 8 seeds.

Oh well, guess we gotta keep winning!

I hear you. The promotion / relegation system for next season is being worked on as we speak by myself and the committee members...

I hear you as well. One of the options on the table is to not include teams that are already down in the tournament phase as losing the relegation tournament has no effect on them but will affect other teams. However, that would preclude miracle runs from happening!

Well hopefully we can provide one of those miracle runs - next up, Electra...cue the Rocky theme music...

My club too, we'd love to enter an extra team to give the whole squad a chance etc etc...

One option also would have been to have the 5th-8th places playoff to stay in Division 1, and the 1st-4th places playoff seperately. That would have divided the tournament in two... it's a balancing act. Your "B" team still might restore your club's presence in D1 still...

YBRCC B are 2-0 up on O Canada B after 2 matches I believe. Hopefully should get that match concluded one away or another very soon.
