even tho wgt has added Bandon Dunes im sure alot of us would rather have seen new PINS on Olympic and Pinehurst instead of a par 3 course ...just a thought

but thanks for trying wgt to make this game a better game still the best golf game there is

    either way

    +1

I have not even played the new par three course, probably never will, so would have preferred new pins.

A new course beats a set of pins for me. Don't like to see you judging something without trying it Alanti. Technically Bandon is the best course WGT have made in my opinion.

I do not believe I was judging the course, just merely stating I have not played the course, nor actually have the intention to do so.

Whilst it may be a great course, I cannot comment but think WGT have not maximised the potential to profit from this release.

Edit: IMHO I think the way WGT release the US Open course it the way to go. Have a Virtual Qualifier as players grind out round after round - and very quickly offsets a lot of those initial development costs. So have two full courses per year and call them both WGT Majors like the VUS Open. And have the Virtual Open over 4 rounds (single play).

Yes both unlimited qualifiers (although I don't like this aspect) as it generates revenue via ball sales - and I would guess a lot!

Having a "novelty" course will get most players playing it, but not as often when there is an incentive such as a good prize and the Kudos of qualifying. But it is played as a subsitute course, generating minimal increased usage.

Personally I would like the "majors to have two sets of pins from the outset - one for qualifiers, the second to be released for start of the Open (s).

To comments about Kia, I think WGT have learned from those days and take a lot more photos to allow for accurate green mapping of several locations.

Yeah new pins would improve this tired game, new Par 72 course would improve it also, but will just have to wait for that. Wonder if thats why so many join as hacks, improve to pro then get bored. The stats of players that are those levels and stopped playing is frightening.

P.S Ive played Bandon, testing indeed, nice greens but reminds me of a course near where i live that got shut down as motorbikes were scrambling over the sand dunes and the dogs which folks let off leads where picking folks balls up. Hardly Congressional.

New pins would be nice, however if they screw up the views like on the Kiawah addition we may want them to leave them alone.

I have never played Bandon and really have no desire.  Played golf for years and the only Par 3 course I played was the dimly lit course in Myrtle Beach.  I am glad it hit the spot for some,  now if you don't mind a new REAL golf course is needed to hit my spot.

They did the photography needed to add Pebble Beach Golf Links for 18 hole stroke play about 7 months ago, so we should get PBGL soon.

We should get the 18 holes of the 2015 US Open venue - Chambers Bay - close to May 1, 2015 for Virtual US Open qualifying play.

With there current staffing it takes 6 months or more to produce a new WGT 18 hole course, pretty much limiting it to 1 or 2 new 18 hole stroke play courses a year that WGT can add.

Icon said back in August that they already have alternative pin placements for both Olympic and RSG. Would it really be so difficult if they already have them to add them in on one of the monthly dupdates.

Agreed. When it was first released I was disappointed expecting a par 72. After playing it quite a few times now, it's an excellent course and very challenging in high winds. Try putting up a -4 or better consistently with high winds. Beats the heck out of a St Andy's RG where if you didn't bird #2 or #8 u probably lost.
