One of the lessons here is that if you're going to miss, don't shortside yourself around the greens, make sure your miss leaves you plenty of green to work with.

Great example of how to adjust. Didn't take you long to get on it there, Mark. Thinking like a golfer, you are.  ;-)

The trouble is, now when i go to real golf i'm going to keep expecting bunker shots and shots out the rough that i play with my 64degree wedge to role on a bit. But they won't because thats not realistic!

Bunker shots here, with the possible exception of the 15/20 bunkers at BPB, have never been remotely close to realistic.  This is especially true of most of the fairway bunkers on all the courses, where one should be able to play a mid to long iron shot without much trouble (depending on lie and unless it's one of the bottomless pits at St A).

One possible solution, aside from wgt changing programming, might be for them to provide us access to a true sand wedge for the greenside bunkers.

Well all I have to say is you spend way too much time bugggering things up ,instead of fixing the existing probs,I spend a lot of time and money playing this game and have enjoyed it.However why change things just to make it easier for the new players, and not make them learn like all us long time members had to do,by trial and error and help from friends on wgt.

    Not happy,

Even punches are different from 30/40, full back spin 100% power & only slightly spins back. This with the CG's & L61 ball. Backspin does NOT work any more from any rough.

    Ya... And what's the problem?

Just comical, people *** because the game isn't real enough - they make it more realistic and you freak.

    MLFAO!

LMFAO dedbunny, but it doesn't look like you have even tried the new rough. So how would you know if it's realistic? Spend half a day playing from the rough then come back with an educated opinion.

Sorry man, edited (I got carried away)

Played a round, hit into it a few times.. Don't need a whole day to figure out it's different..

Seems to play like rough. You hit and hope you can keep the club from opening up or blading the ball, either way 99% of the time the ball comes out and runs out a few feet anyway.

Hit the pin once and breezed the cup once.. Seem fine to me.

And under the heading of totally weird things you'll here is me say 'Good job WGT"

Some are recording what changed and by how much, but the get responses as if they are strange. That's a little interesting in and of itself. I say post all the info, I'll test out if it helps.

Which reinforces my point that professional software programmers document their software updates precisely stating what changes have been made.  Here the software updates may or may not be described and if they are, it is only in the most generic of terms without any attempt at specificity.
