So, those new Cally irons will come in at L110 or so lol

Level 110 you say? I am okay with that.

    LOL

LOL  I'd be ok with it too and I only 5K away from L101.  But then it would give me something to play for and by the time I got there it wouldn't sting so much as I just bought the L100 Nikes not too long ago.  Ok, maybe 105 would be more better.

But make it  the Ping G30's as I will be gaming Ping irons this year instead of Callaway.  I was thinking of getting the new Bertha irons until I seen just how bad they look in real life.   Maybe the new XR irons from Callaway, they don't look so bad, but I wait a few seasons to get this years gear, cheaper and still an upgrade in golf tech for my game. As much as I wanted to try the G30's as my first iron set from Ping, I decided to go G20's off Ebay for not much more than what I got back from selling off some of my old gear.

Sort of wish I could get some of the G20's here now that I'll be swinging them for real.

    ;-)

Remove "beta" from a 7-8 year old game.

WGT seems to have gone out of beta a couple of years ago but no one really noticed.

Maybe so. I've only been playing 22 months and I remember seeing beta next to WGT, so if they are no longer in beta, it's been within that time frame.

Really though, it doesn't matter to me. I will stay play. I was in a crap mood last night when I wrote that post. It's much easier to blame WGT for a screw-up than it is to accept that, maybe it was my fault :-)

Changing playing conditions should have been mentioned on the news page in addition to the forums, I think.

Off to use up some balls re-mapping my irons/wedges from the rough :-)

I agree and there's a convenient way to do it-use those pop-up notifications you see when you open WGT. Something simple like a link to the news or the thread such as the one Icon started about this change.

I wouldn't get too carried away trying to map those rough shots. The main change in the rough shots was to take away some spin and precision-pretty much eliminate the darts from rough-and now you have to deal with roll after landing.

This gets really dicey when you don't have much green in front of the pin to work with. Think BPB#4 from the rough short of the green. All of a sudden that's a tough up to keep under a 10-15 foot return. Even the flops are rolling.

    Thank YJ

That's pretty much what I've noticed, too. Now to remember it when I play, lol. And you're right........I would quit before I'd waste balls re-mapping my shots. I'm not a gamer (never owned or even played an xbox or playstation). I won't ever take this game that seriously.

Jimbog1964 is correct that this will help the autodingers the most.  Good to medium players will be hurt most.  Top non-cheating players will be hurt a little.  New players will probably not even notice since they are not that familiar with the game.

Really, if you think a minute, this is just another ploy to try and force players to buy more and better balls.   Think of it as another clash, but better disguised, and you don't have the ability to opt-out.

Actually I'm starting to like it now.   The old way, my flop shots bounced and then stop dead. Now they bounce and run on a little, which I think is better.

I'm with Roger....my 89 atv now does what my ole Satin 64 did ?

OR the full BS Atv does .....................>>>>>>>>^^^^^^^^^

Equipped it to prove I didn't sell that gem  :-))

Not hard Re-learning either wedge surely ?

1,200 forum posts seems like that's taking the game pretty seriously.

Hey WGT, next time you make a major change like this, do a better job of letting players know. Like putting this sort of thing on the front page like you did with your ridiculous new cartoon green speeds.
