    This is only to renew my pledge to never play another paid tournament that involves a Par 3, 4, or 5 course. I didn't hold that promise when made last, but I assure I will from this point on. Not only are they boring courses, they are NOT even considered, and never will be, as courses to be played by the PGA/USGA.

    WGT, takes pride in touting the reality of this site, and should, but throwing these fields with holes in them in the middle of  a bracket tournament is a cheap way to try to get more people to play them. They are no fun to play, and I just WD from the 2nd round of a Legend 100 credit bracket for that very reason.

    WGT, if you want those "courses" here for novelty or variety reasons, that's great. But, you should not force players to play them by having one in every paid bracket for the past several months.

    I like those courses every now and then. To me, they are like a mixed platter of food.

    Why didn't you check before signing up and keep consequent?

    OTOH, complaints are rising that the Bracket configs keep unchanged too long.

    I have no problem with the Par 4 or 5 courses, par 5's make a great eagles only CC track. Par 4 is a tough track. Par 3's I do not care for and have never played the Bandon course. I also dislike the fact they count towards low scores and even stats, as they skew those figures.But then again I have a complete disdain for CTTH as well.

    I do not see how they are more or less boring than any other course and cannot see the point if they are not a "real course" in terms of the PGA/USGA. They are made for WGT only, not tour players (that goes for every course) as this is a golf game, not real life.

    But lots of players do like them, so I suppose "novelty" courses have their place.

    You are correct in the bracket schedule - these are the same old every time, and as a player who avoids Par 3's I would not enter one - we see the layout first so do not sign up if you do not like it. And how the hell are you being forced to play?

    If there were no par 3 and par 5 courses, how would the sandbaggers avoid Legendom? :-)

    you know......

    here is my take on best of par 3,4,5 courses (since I was the one who chose holes for all, they are my babies).

    best of par 3:  course with hard but very beautiful holes. Evert hole presents unique challenge

    best of par 4: many say it's the toughest course out there. it's great as such but becomes a beast in uneven lies, high winds, fast greens - if you really want to challenge yourself, try it

    best of par 5: very fun course for multiplayer/match play. high winds./fast greens add quite a challenge

    that's why they are there - ones who want to play, can. they were easy to make and I think they offer much more than many think, if they take the time to discover it.

    My take FWIW:

    Par 3s - no time for them at all;

    Par 5s - Really enjoy them;

    Par 4 (best of v hardest) - Great course.  Really enjoy that in any conditions EXCEPT UEL which I continue to not be bothered with personally.

    100% agree unless it's Par 3 or UELs :).......Personally and horses for courses.......  Can't knock choice IMO.
